SB Four Bases: UT Permian Basin

The Greyhounds are home for their last weekend of games against UT Permian Basin and No. 13 Angelo State

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico softball is home for their last two doubleheaders of the season. The Greyhounds will face UT Permian Basin on Saturday, May 2, with the first game starting at 1 p.m. MT at the Greyhound Softball Field. The following day, on Sunday, May 3, the Hounds will then face No. 13 Angelo State with the games set to begin at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. MT. May 3 will also be senior day for Eastern softball and two seniors, Marissa Rodriguez and Jordan Rivera, will be honored.
 
The Greyhounds most recently fell to Texas A&M-Kingsville on the road, 6-9 in game one and 0-8 in game two, this past Sunday bringing their overall record to 17-26 and their conference record to 13-23. As a team, Eastern holds a collective .284 batting average, a .450 slugging percentage, .408 on-base percentage, with 237 runs scored, and 218 RBIs.
 
Christina Meneses comes into the weekend as one of the top batters in the Lone Star. Meneses ranks first in on-base percentage (.565), third in batting percentage (.436), and sixth in slugging percentage (.791). Meneses has gone 48-for-110 with 87 total bases and nine home runs through 43 games.
 
Samantha Parisi is second on the team with a .355 batting average, .459 on-base percentage, and .419 slugging percentage with 52 total bases.
 
Marissa Rodriguez is an offensive leader for the Greyhounds, as well, posting a .319 batting average with 17 RBIs and 38 total bases.
 
Emily Marsh is another leader on the team with a .275 batting average, 23 RBIs, and .458 slugging percentage.
 
Marissa Rodriguez leads in the circle with a 9-3 record, a 4.18 ERA in 80.1 innings pitched and has allowed 99 hits and 48 earned runs while striking out 39 batters and posting a .299 opponent batting average.
 
Miranda Guillen is a top leader as well with a 6-9 record, a 5.86 ERA in 83.2 innings pitched and has recorded 84 strikeouts while limiting opponents to a .301 batting average.
 
Angelina Rubalcava holds a 2-6 record with a 8.89 ERA in 54.2 innings pitched and has allowed 71 hits and 46 earned runs while striking out 39 batters and posting a .306 opponent batting average.
 
The Falcons were most recently swept by Lubbock Christian, 1-3 and 2-7, which brings their overall record to 18-27 and their conference record to 9-25. UT Permian Basin holds a team batting average of .283, a 5.25 ERA, and a .960 fielding percentage.
 
The Hounds have faced the Falcons 48 times resulting in a winning overall record for ENMU of 34-14.
