PORTALES, N.M. - Eastern New Mexico softball standout
Christina Meneses has been recognized with a pair of prestigious postseason honors. Meneses was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) First-Team All-Region at first base on Friday before earning D2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) Second-Team All-South Central Region honors.

Meneses was a force at the plate throughout the 2026 season, putting together one of the most impressive offensive campaigns in program history. The first baseman finished third in the Lone Star Conference with a .450 batting average, which is tied for third in Eastern New Mexico history. Her dominance extended beyond just batting average, as she led the conference with a .572 on-base percentage – the highest mark in program history. Meneses also ranked third in the LSC in on-base plus slugging with a 1.372 percentage and seventh with an .800 slugging percentage, the second-best mark in Greyhound history.

The Arizona native showcased her consistency throughout the season, recording a season-high three hits on four separate occasions. Meneses collected three hits against Oklahoma Baptist (Feb. 8), St. Mary's (March 13), Texas Woman's (April 1), and UT Permian Basin (May 2). Her power at the plate was equally impressive, as she belted a team-high nine home runs during the 2026 campaign.

One of Meneses' most dominant performances came in a victory against Midwestern State on March 20, when she drove in a season-high four RBIs to help power the Greyhounds to victory. Her ability to produce in clutch situations made her one of the most feared hitters in the conference.

Beyond her batting average and power numbers, Meneses proved to be a complete offensive threat. She scored 38 runs, drove in 47 RBIs, and recorded 11 doubles and two triples for Eastern. Her exceptional plate discipline was evident as she drew 35 walks throughout the season, contributing to her conference-leading on-base percentage.
