PORTALES, N.M. – For the first time in 10 year the Eastern New Mexico volleyball team will be making consecutive appearances in the Lone Star Conference tournament. Entering as the sixth seed, they will open the tournament against third seeded Angelo State in The Box on the campus of West Texas A&M at 11 a.m. MT.

ENMU LSC Tournament HistoryEastern New Mexico will be making their 17 appearance in the LSC Tournament. They are 18-15 all-time and have won a title that came in 1993.
LSC Tournament vs. ASUIn the Lone Star Conference Tournament, Eastern New Mexico is 3-2 against Angelo State. The last meeting between the teams was in 1994 that ended in a sweep for the Zias. ENMU has won the last two contests versus the Rambelles. The last win for ASU came in the 1992 tournament.

Courtney Lawson with 203.
Setting the attackers up are seniors
Kennedi Catano and
Karra Day. In the Zias' 6-2 system, Catano has been credited with 584 assists and leads the team with 5.21 a/s while Day adds 538 assists and 4.85 a/s.
Lawson enters with a team-high 36 service aces. Sophomore
Lindsay Bost is right behind her 33 aces. Also with at least double-digit aces this season are senior
Bree Anna Lucero (14), freshman
Andrea Aguilar (14), Catano (16) and Day (21).
Aguilar comes in with a team-best 3.47 d/s and is averaging 4.43 d/s since taking over as the libero 13 matches ago. Bost is second with 3.28 d/s and Lawson (3.22) is also getting more than three digs a set.
Gibbons goes into the tournament ranked 18th in the nation with 122 total blocks. She averages 1.09 b/s, the seventh best in the LSC. Needing only one more block to reach triple-digits on the year is Lucero.
As a team, ENMU is hitting .163 with 11.8 k/s and 11.2 a/s. They recorded 143 service aces but have hit into 179 errors. The Zias are getting 14.1 d/s and have 237 blocks. Opposing teams are hitting .163 against Eastern with 11.5 k/s and 10.8 a/s.
Scouting Angelo StateAngelo State finished tied for second in the league with Texas Woman's at 11-5 but lost the tiebreaker. The Rambelles lost their regular season finale in three sets to Lubbock Christian on Saturday. In their last four matches, ASU is 2-2 with wins over Tarleton State and ENMU while falling to West Texas A&M.
Last season in the conference tournament, the Rambelles made it all the way to the championship match for the fourth straight time before losing to the Lady Buffs, who have won eight straight tournament titles. They also qualified for the South Central Regional Tournament in which they again lost to WT in the finals.
Mallory Blauser leads ASU with 341 kills and 3.79 k/s while hitting .196. Also averaging over three kills a set is Brianna Sotello at 3.19. Abbie Lynn in contributing 2.74 k/s with a .235 attack percentage while Zoey Hanrahan has a team-high .261 attack percentage and averages 1.88 k/s.
Setting the attackers up is Alexa Johnson. She has 962 assists this year for an average of 11.32 per set. Her assist total is the third highest in the LSC while her a/s mark leads the league.
At the service line, Katie MacLeay has a team-best 23 aces. Both Daeleigh Castile and Shelby Wilt have recorded 21 aces. They are the only three players with double-digit ace totals this year and account for 65 of the team's 111.
Wilt comes in with 527 digs this year, fifth most in the conference. Her 5.55 d/s average though is tops for all LSC athletes. Both MacLeay (3.44) and Sotello (3.32) are getting over three digs a set as well.
Leading ASU with 87 blocks is Hanrahan. Castile contributes with 53 rejections while Blauser adds 48 blocks, including a team-high five solo rejections.
As a team, the Rambelles are hitting .183 with 14.1 k/s and 13.4 a/s. They lead the LSC with 21.9 d/s and have totaled 184 blocks. Opponents are getting 11.5 k/s and 10.9 a/s with a .130 attack percentage. They average 20.0 d/s and have a 219.5-184 block advantage over ASU.
