PORTALES, N.M. — Eastern New Mexico University track & field coach Danielle Kcholi has announced the additions of
Lenell Perkins (Jr., Chicago, Ill./Thornwood HS/Western Texas College) and Ilia Eligualachvili (So., Bat-Yam, Israel/Western Kentucky University) to the Greyhound roster for the 2015 seasons. The duo is expected to bolster an already strong group of returners and newcomers.
Eligualachvili transferred to Eastern from NCAA Division I Western Kentucky University, where he competed for the Hilltoppers in the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In 2011, prior to arriving at WKU, he won the Israeli championships in the 400-meter hurdles. As a specialist in that event, Eligualachvili's personal best time is 52.69 seconds. "We are very happy to have Ilia joining us," said Kcholi. "He brings maturity and experience to our team and we expect him to help us in areas our program was lacking in the past."
Perkins joins the Hounds after a stint at Western Texas Junior College. His personal best in the 100-meter dash was 10.45 seconds. "Lenell is going to be a huge asset to our sprint program" said assistant coach
Colton Coleman.
