Box Score TAOS, N.M. — The Eastern New Mexico University men's soccer team overcame a 2-1 deficit late in their season opener to beat University of Colorado -Colorado Springs 3-2 with time expiring on the clock.
Alexis Medina,
Ryan McManus, and
Carlos Viveros all scored a goal each in the victory, with McManus tying the match with 4:30 left and Viveros scoring what would be the deciding goal with only a minute left.
Medina's goal came off a penalty kick as did the Mountain Lions' second goal.
The Greyhounds recorded six total shots while their opponent had nine. The Mountain Lions were on the offensive all night, keeping the Greyhound's keeper on his toes as he recorded nine saves.

Paul Tate earned his first win in his freshman year as the Greyhounds coach. Tate said, "Our team was relentless tonight and stuck it out till the bitter end. The guys really played hard and didn't stop till the final whistle."
The Greyhounds will have a quick turnaround before facing Adams State University Friday, Sept. 4, with another neutral site matchup in Taos at 2:00 p.m. Following that match, ENMU will travel to Odessa, Texas, Sept. 8 to face off against University of Texas-Permian Basin at 6:00 p.m.
