PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team opens up Lone Star Conference action on Thursday at the University of Texas of the Permian Basin in Odessa. Tipoff is slated for 6:30 p.m. The Greyhounds are riding a three-game winning streak for the first time since January 2014 and are 4-3 on the young season.

Cardiac Kids
Eastern has already played a pair of overtime games this season, including a double-overtime thriller against Wayne State last Saturday at the PAK-A-SAK Thanksgiving Tournament in Canyon. The Greyhounds have played five games decided by three points or fewer, going 3-2 in those contests.

Cleaning Up The Glass
Eastern New Mexico is among the country's best in offensive rebounds with 17.7/game so far in 2016.
Chris Lewis leads the way with 28 boards and is fifth nationally with 4.67/game. In the previous game, the Philadelphia, Pa., native pulled down 15 rebounds and eight offensive boards. The big man is averaging a double-double over the last three games with 10.0 PPG and 12.7 RPG.
Neal Named LSC Offensive Player of the Week
Senior
CoRnell Neal was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after lighting up the scoreboard this past weekend in Canyon. The Midwest City, Okla., native nailed a game winning three against Southern Nazarene and came up with eight points in overtime to help the 'Hounds past Wayne State.
Call Them The Electricians
Eastern has gotten production across the board over the course of the three-game winning streak. Five players are averaging above 10 points/game, with
CoRnell Neal and
Marquise Harris averaging 22.5 and 17.0, respectively.
Double Bubble
With
Chaunce Hill being the only returning player to have recorded a double-double in the Green and Silver, three other players have accomplished the feat this season.
Shawn Shelton (11 pts/11 reb) was the first of the season, followed by
Chris Lewis (14 pts/10 reb) and
Andre Hughes (11 pts/11 reb).
Owning The Stripe
The Greyhounds have shot much better from the free throw line over the last three games, shooting eight percent better than the season average. Against Wayne State, ENMU went to the line 44 times over the final three periods and shot at a 73 percent clip from the line.
CoRnell Neal made a season-high 11 free throws in the win.
Leading the Way
Senior
Chris Wyms and junior
Kevin Saiz are the only players on the roster with multiple years of experience with the Greyhounds. Both players have been with the team since the 2014-15 season, but Wyms was sidelined for much of the season last year due to an injury. Saiz saw significant action a year ago in the seniors absence, making 20 starts.
Hughes Getting Huge
Junior
Andre Hughes came up big on the boards in the team's season opening win, pulling down a team-leading nine rebounds. Additionally, the Killeen, Texas, native was tied for second on the team with 12 points in the win.
Straight Outta Compton
Junior
Marquise Harris produced 14 points and gave the 'Hounds the lead for good with a three-point dagger in overtime of the season opener. Harris was lights out in the second game, going 11-of-17 from the field, 4-of-8 from beyond the arc and 3-4 from the charity stripe for 29 points. The Watts, Calif., native went 6-of-18 shooting and pulled down five rebounds in 26 minutes.
Say It Aint So Joe
Junior
Joe Clarke fired at-will in the season opener, going 5-for-21 from the field and 2-of-6 from beyond the arc. The New Rochelle, New York, native gave the 'Hounds 14 points and four rebounds in the win.
Neal Goes For 22
Senior
CoRnell Neal posted a strong all-around game against the Skyhawks on Saturday, going 7-of-15 from the field, good for 22 points in the setback. The Midwest City, Okla., native saw his shot hang on the rim for what seemed like an eternity before rolling off on his buzzer-beating three that would have given the 'Hounds a victory over Fort Lewis.
