PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball has announced its final additions to the 2026-27 roster, joining a strong group of returners from last season's Lone Star Conference runner-up squad.
The Greyhounds enter the 2026-27 campaign looking to build on last season's success with a roster that combines experienced returners with a talented group of newcomers.

Joseph Obidiran | F | JR | Edmonton, AB | Northland Community & Technical College
Joseph Obidiran, a junior forward hailing from Edmonton, Alberta joins the Greyhounds from Northland Community and Technical College in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. Obidiran appeared in 27 games for the Pioneers last season, averaging 5.2 PPG and 4.3 RPG. He also added 13 blocks and 18 steals.
"(Obidiran) is a hard working kid… He will add depth to our already strong front court." said assistant coach Cam Parker.










Returning to the Greyhounds
The Greyhounds welcome back eight players from a 2025-26 team that recorded 26 victories and finished as the Lone Star Conference runner-up. The returning group accounted for a combined 40 points per game, representing 48 percent of the team's scoring, while also contributing 14 rebounds per game (39 percent) and seven assists per game (52 percent).
For the second consecutive season, Eastern New Mexico will return more than half of its roster from the previous year. In an era of college basketball where roster turnover has become increasingly common, the Greyhounds have continued to build around continuity and player retention. That consistency has allowed ENMU to maintain its foundation while adding new pieces to a group coming off one of the most successful seasons in program history.
The combination of an experienced returning core and a new group of additions positions the Greyhounds to build upon the momentum established during their 26-win campaign.
Maurice Austin headlines the returning group after starting all 32 games for the Greyhounds last season and setting an ENMU program record with 1088 minutes played. He averaged 14.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and a team-leading 4.5 assists per game while shooting 52.3 percent from the field. Austin also made an impact on the defensive end, averaging 2.8 steals per contest and 88 steals overall, the second most in a season in program history.
"Beyond excited to have Mo back for a third straight year. He's been highly motivated this offseason and has been working to take his game to an even higher level. I can't wait to see all of his hard work pay off. He's not only a great player, but an even better person." said Cam Parker on Austin's return.
Austin Abrams also returns after starting all 32 games and finishing fourth on the team in scoring at 12.8 points per game. He shot 51.7 percent from the field and connected on a team-best 41.6 percent of his attempts from beyond the arc. Abrams added 3.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
"(Abrams) is an experienced third year player who will make another big jump this season. He knows our standard, efficient scorer who can score it at all 3 levels. He's a tough kid who will do whatever it takes to win." said assistant coach Lloyd Daniels.
Mikå Tangermann appeared in all 32 games, making nine starts during the 26-win campaign. He averaged 4.5 points and 2.0 rebounds per game while shooting 51.0 percent from the floor and 39.0 percent from three-point range.
"We're thrilled to see how much of a jump Mikå will make from year one in the LSC to year two. He returned to campus taller, stronger and with more confidence. I'm excited to see his continued growth and the type of dynamic player he is becoming." said Coach Parker.
Elijah Hollins provided another scoring option off the Greyhound bench, appearing in 25 contests and averaging 4.7 points per game. He knocked down 20 three-pointers during the season and averaged 11.8 minutes per appearance.
"(Hollins) had a very impressive summer and has turned into an everyday guy for us. His ability to shoot the ball and space the floor will open up opportunities not only for himself but for his teammates to make plays." spoke Coach Daniels.
Alex Alfaro saw action in 29 games and provided an efficient option from the perimeter, shooting 45.7 percent from the field and 46.7 percent from three-point range. The Deming, N.M. native added 9 steals and 9 blocks to his 2026 campaign. Modibo Sanogo appeared in 20 contests for the Greyhounds last season, averaging 1.7 PPG and totaling 28 rebounds. Kayle Covington and Jesus Licon also return with a year of experience as a Greyhound.
Altogether, Eastern's eight returners bring back approximately 40 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists per game, accounting for 48 percent of the Greyhounds' scoring, 39 percent of their rebounding and 52 percent of their assists from last season.
With the new additions and building on a foundation of strong returners, the Greyhounds are poised and positioned to make another playoff run this upcoming season and look to compete for another Lone Star title.
