PORTALES, N.M. — Last week, the Eastern New Mexico University women's softball team (9-15; LSC 2-6) faced one of the toughest regional schedules possible, with six games against Angelo State and Lubbock Christian. Not only did the Greyhounds earn their second-ever road win over the Rambelles, but they were either tied or had a lead, late in five of the six contests.
Eastern currently ranks second in the LSC with 8 triples, and is fourth in scoring. Defensively, the Hounds are third with a .969 fielding percentage, behind only top-ranked West Texas A&M and Angelo State.
Audrey Velasquez ranks fifth in the league in total hits, with 34.
Erikka Burke is tied for second with seven double plays turned
Over the first 24 games of the season, Velasquez has led Eastern with a .391 batting average. She also has a .586 slugging percentage, 20 runs scored, four stolen bases, and a .984 fielding percentage. Burke and
Kyra Sirag are right behind at .366 and .355, respectively. With a .311 batting average and four homers,
Morgan Green leads ENMU in both runs scored (22) and runs RBIs (21).

Kiana Zerr pitched 6.1 innings, belted two homeruns (including a grand slam), and had seven runs batted in. Over the six games,
Susannah Chandler batted .500, while
Audrey Velasquez hit .455. As a team, the Greyhounds matched the Rambelles and Lady Chaps with five homeruns.
After a series sweep against Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas A&M-Commerce is on a seven-game win streak. In their second year of action, the Lions boast a 19-5 record, with a 5-4 LSC mark. Ciera Nunez leads A&M-Commerce with a .371 batting average and 15 stolen bases, while the rotation features a pair of seven-game winners in Brittany Woolridge and Selena Rima.

Aja Secheslingloff tossed a complete-game six hitter to lead the
Greyhounds to their first win over the Lions, 8-3. The win was her tenth of the season. Eastern took a 2-0 lead on
Aurelia Sandoval's first-inning homerun and never trailed. Chandler finished the game three-for-four at the plate with a double.
Up NextThe Eastern New Mexico University softball team will open a six-game road trip on March 18, at Cameron. After four games against the Aggies, Eastern will visit Lubbock Christian for a doubleheader.
