Men's Soccer Continues Road Trip at St. Mary's and A&M-International

Game Notes

The ENMU Greyhounds men's soccer team travels for its second to last road trip of the season before hosting six-straight matches in Portales. The Greyhounds take on St. Mary's in San Antonio, Texas, on Thursday at 6 p.m. before heading further south to Laredo for a matchup with Texas A&M-International. Both matches are Heartland Conference matches.

• ENMU Head Coach Paul Tate (8-10-3), who begins his second-year at the helm of the soccer program, needs two victories to eclipse the 10-win plateau.
• Ryan McManus, Ryan Sinclair, Ignacio Dicun, James Gutierrez, Robert Raspudic, Erick Kwizera, Zach Riley, Joseph Leal, Ose Alli and Luis Lozoya all return to the pitch this season after seeing significant action a year ago.
• Senior Ryan McManus enters his final season wearing the Green & Silver. The Scotish forward netted six goals, three assists and one game winner last season
• Juniors Robert Raspudic and Ignacio Dicun lead the team with three points apiece. The tandem has each found the back of the net and picked up an assist.
• Senior Ryan Sinclair led the team with four assists last year and aims to set the table for the offense more often this season. Sinclair picked up his first assist of the season against Westminster and leads the team with seven shots this season.
• Redshirt Junior James Gutierrez is back between the pipes for the 'Hounds after pitching a shutout in the opening match of the season and in the conference opener against Oklahoma Christian. Defensively, the unit is allowing 1.53 goals/game. The Albuquerque, N.M., native has made 20 saves in 470 minutes of action.
• After being shutout in the first match, the Greyhound offense came alive in the second match with three goals. Omary Shabani, Javier Rubio and Robert Raspudic all found the back of the net against Westminster.
• Eastern played Adams State to a draw in the first half before surrendering three-straight goals in the second half. The Green and Silver's comeback bid fell just short as a flurry of shots in the final minute were saved by the Grizzlies.
• The 'Hounds opened HLC action with a 1-0 win against Oklahoma Christian before falling to 17th-ranked MSU, 4-1
• ENMU will host nine matches at the friendly confines of Al Whitehead Field at Greyhound Stadium and ENMU Soccer Field. Of the nine home contests, eight are against foes from the Heartland Conference.
