What to Watch For
  • For the second-straight week, the Hounds will not face a foe ranked or receiving votes in the national polls. ENMU has faced seven teams already during the 2017-18 season that are either ranked or receiving votes.
    • Nov. 11 – vs. #16 Fort Lewis (W, 73-72)
    • Nov. 17 – vs. RV Dixie State (L, 89-99 OT)
    • Nov. 18 – vs. RV Azusa Pacific (W, 86-70)
    • Nov. 25 – vs. RV Dallas Baptist (L, 69-83)
    • Nov. 30 – vs. #18 UTPB (L, 74-84)
    • Dec. 2 – vs. #8 West Texas A&M (L, 69-99)
    • Dec. 7 – at RV Texas A&M-Commerce (L, 78-85)
  • Eastern is 0-2 all-time against the Rangers. The teams have not met since 2007 when the Greyhounds lost 96-71 in Denver. Tuesday marks the first-time Regis will make the trek to Portales.
  • ENMU Head Coach Tres Segler moved to 17-22 overall with the Hounds after knocking off Oklahoma Christian on the road last weekend.
  • Eastern has gone with the starting lineup of Maurice Coleman, Lamarquis Thompson, Zach Parker, Arcaim Lallemand and Jamani Pierce in eight of the first 11 contests this year. The only other lineup used by the Hounds inserted Andre Hughes in the four with Pierce.
  • Thompson (11.8 PPG), Pierce (10.8 PPG), Parker (10.2 PPG) and Devin Pullum (9.1 PPG) are all flirting with double-figures in points. Pierce is coming off a 20-point performance on the road against the Eagles in which he knocked down 12 free throws and grabbed eight boards to lead the team.
  • Overall, Coleman (36), Thompson (26), Pullum (19), Brown (14), Parker (13) and Lallemand (10) have done a stellar job of distributing the basketball this season as the Green and Silver have 138 dimes to just 151 turnovers.
  • Another considerable turnaround from last season has been from the charity stripe. The Greyhounds are shooting 73% from the line, much better than the 65% the team shot a year ago. The last time out, Eastern earned 35 trips to the charity stripe, knocking down 26 of those attempts.
