PORTALES, NM — After playing its first 12 games on the road, the Eastern New Mexico University softball team (3-9) will finally have the opportunity to play at Greyhound Softball Field. The home opener against New Mexico Highlands was delayed until Wednesday, due to weather concerns.
Live statistics will be available on GoEasternAthletics.com for the doubleheader against the Cowgirls, which starts at noon on Wednesday. Eastern will also play a three-game Lone Star Conference series at Western New Mexico, which opens on Friday at 2 p.m., with a Saturday doubleheader, which opens at noon.

The Eastern New Mexico University softball team concluded a busy week, with seven games. Over that span, the Hounds picked up wins over Colorado Christian, Regis, and Northwestern Oklahoma State. ENMU wrapped up the week with a wild rally from an eight-run deficit against Colorado Christian to tie the game, before falling 9-8 in the seventh.
Kaylee Rogers picked up two of the Greyhounds victories in the circle, while 
Alyssa Lovato also notched a win. 
Erikka Burke and 
Kylee Keller both hit over .400 for Eastern and combined for seven RBIs.
Third baseman Kaylee Keller enters the week's action with a five-game hit streak and has reached base safely in each of her last 12 games. 
Kamalani Peneku has reached base in seven consecutive contests, while Adriana Carbajal has a streak of six games.
First baseman 
Erikka Burke leads the lineup with a .389 batting average, while 
Susannah Chandler and Peneku are right behind, at .350. Rogers has a team-best 2.60 earned-run average over 32.1 innings of work and has allowed a .313 batting average to the opposition.
Head Coach 
Katie Welborn is in her second season at ENMU and has registered 17 wins. She is just seven from catching Ron Landschoot on the ENMU wins list and eight from Hollie Chadwick.
In the Series with Highlands
New Mexico Highlands holds a 24-22 lead in the overall series against Eastern, but the Hounds are 15-11 at home against the Cowgirls. Highlands has claimed the last three meetings, after the Hounds had a run of seven wins in eight games. When the teams met at Greyhound Softball Field last season, 
the teams split, with Eastern claiming a win in the opener by a 10-1 score. NMHU bounced back to earn a 7-5 win in the nightcap.
The series started in the 1997, with Highlands winning all five games.

New Mexico Highlands last played on February 5, and dropped a 3-2 heartbreaker to Texas Woman's. The Cowgirls are currently 0-5 coming to Portales, and will follow Wednesday's contests with a 14-game home stand.
Head Coach Karin Garberry is in her second season at New Mexico Highlands and has a record of 15-37.
In the Series with Western New Mexico
The Greyhounds are 7-30-1 against Western New Mexico, with a 5-8 mark at home. The Mustangs hold a three-game win streak in the series, although the teams have not met since the 2009 season.
The series began in the 1998 season, with the Mustangs winning the season series, 5-2-1.

Western New Mexico's most recent contest was a 4-3 heartbreaker, which they dropped on an extra-inning walk-off hit to Colorado-State Pueblo. The Mustangs are currently 0-11 and open a seven-game home stand with three games against the Greyhounds.
Angela Corliss is in her sixth season as head coach at WNMU and has a record of 95-181.
