PORTALES, N.M. –The Eastern New Mexico University men's basketball team welcomes Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville for a pair of huge Lone Star Conference games on the final weekend of the regular season. Tipoff against the Rams is slated for 7:30 PM and the team encourages all fans to wear green. Start time against the Javelinas is tabbed for 4 PM and Eastern will honor its four seniors prior to tipoff.
Â
With a pair of wins, the Greyhounds would clinch the seven-seed in the Lone Star Conference tournament. Eastern is currently in a tie with Angelo State for the final position with a 12-14 overall record and 6-10 mark in LSC play. ENMU is riding a four-game winning streak in league play, the first time the Greyhounds have accomplished the feat since 2006.

Junior guard
Lamarquis Thompson is coming off his best performance of the season against Cameron. The Houston, Texas, native recorded his first double-double with 17 points and a team season-high 15 rebounds. Thompson knocked down two game-winning shots on the weekend, hitting a jumper from the corner against Midwestern and draining a go-ahead three against the Aggies.
Â
Junior forward
Chris Lewis saw his best offensive outburst of the season this past weekend as well. The Philadelphia, Pa., native scored a team-high 23 points against the Mustangs on 8-of-11 shooting and went 7-of-9 from the free throw line. The big man came two boards shy of picking up a double-double.
Â
Prior to the game on Saturday, ENMU will honor seniors
Chris Wyms,
Javaan Mumtaz,
Lucas Bowens and
Chaunce Hill.
