PORTALES, NM — The Eastern New Mexico University softball team will open a five-game home stand this Friday, which will conclude on Tuesday. The Greyhounds are 8-0 this season at home. That win total is Eastern's highest for a season since earning nine home victories in the 2013 season.
On Friday, the Hounds will open a Lone Star Conference series against Texas Woman's will a 5 p.m. MT doubleheader. The teams will meet again on Saturday at noon.
On Tuesday, ENMU will host Lubbock Christian in a non-conference doubleheader at 4 p.m.

About the Greyhounds
The 2018 season has shown a display of both power and speed by the Greyhound lineup. In 26 games played, the Hounds already have 26 homers, with eight from
Erikka Burke and five from
Ashley Lopez. ENMU also has 25 stolen bases, with six coming from
Elena Garcia. Pitcher
Leslie Reyes is allowing a .274 batting average and has posted a 4.54 earned-run average.
In the Series with the Pioneers
Eastern is 14-61 against Texas Woman's, with an 8-25 record at home. This weekend, ENMU will be looking for its first win in the series since a 5-4 win on April 15, 2016.
The game saw ENMU plate three runs in its final at bat, with Susannah Chandler driving a walk-off single to left field.
Kiana Zerr tossed all eight innings to earn the win, while
Erikka Burke had a 2-for-4 performance at the plate with a homer and two runs batted in.
In the Series with the Lubbock Christian
Eastern is looking for its first victory in the 24-game series against the perennial powerhouse Lady Chaps. Today marks the 11th and 12th times the teams have met in Portales.
The series began on Feb. 12, 2010, with a doubleheader in Portales.
