Box Score 1 LAREDO, Texas – The Eastern New Mexico softball team took on Texas A&M International for a Lone Star Conference doubleheader on Sunday. The Greyhounds fell 11-0 in the first game and 7-0 in the second by way of a forfeit.
GAME ONE: TAMIU 11, ENMU 0 (5 INNINGS)
The Dustdevils got the bats going early and jumped out to a 1-0 lead after one inning. TAMIU then saw three runs score in the bottom of the second and a solo home run from Briana Arredondo in the fourth to extend the advantage to 5-0.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Dustdevils had a six-run offensive output for an 11-0 lead. Erika Cortez got things started with a solo homer, while Arrendondo wrapped up the frame with a grand slam.
In the circle, Cortez picked up the first perfect game in Dustdevil history as she struck out nine batters and did not allow the Greyhounds a hit, walk, or opportunity to get on base in five innings.

Jordan Bowman pitched all four innings to shift to 0-1 on the season.

GAME TWO: TAMIU 7, ENMU 0 (FORFEIT)
TAMIU once again took the lead early with four runs in the first inning.
The Hounds responded with a run of their own in the top of the third to cut the deficit to 4-1.
Aylene Lucero hit a double to right field and then advanced to third on a single from
Jokaira Paredes. Lucero rounded home when Paredes was caught on a steal attempt.
In the bottom of the third frame, the Dustdevils saw four more runs score, highlighted by a solo home run from Victoria Gonzalez and a two-run homer from Arrendondo.
Unfortunately, in the bottom of the fourth inning, Eastern had to forfeit the game and the contest ended as a 7-0 victory for TAMIU.
The Greyhounds are back in action in Portales, N.M. when they host St. Mary's on March 26 starting at 3 p.m.
