PORTALES, N.M. - The Eastern New Mexico softball team welcomes Western New Mexico and UT Permian Basin to Greyhounds Softball Field this weekend. The Hounds will face WNMU on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. before taking on UTPB on Sunday at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.Â

LAST TIME OUT
The Greyhounds enter the weekend with an overall record of 1-20 and Lone Star Conference record of 1-19. Last weekend the Hounds won their first game of the season with a 10-4 victory over Midwestern State on Sunday.
During that contest, Eastern had a season-high 14 hits.
Tianna Boone went 2-for-4 at the plate with a home run and three RBI.
Jokaira Paredes was 3-for-5 with three RBI. Boone,

Azalea Martinez, and
Alanna Larkins all recorded a double during the game.

SENIOR DAY
On Sunday, the Hounds honor their lone senior, Lolly Gallegos. This is her first season on the team. Gallegos has appeared in 10 games with six starts as the catcher or on first base. She has 10 at-bats with two walks.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Western New Mexico University
The Mustangs enter the weekend with an overall and record of 1-23 and LSC mark of 1-23. Last Sunday, WNMU dropped two games at Oklahoma Christian by scores of 7-3 and 18-9.
Eliza Ortiz paces the team in batting average with a . 347. Kaila Burnett leads the way in hits (21) and RBI (11).
In the circle, Bryana Munoz has the Mustangs' lone win, team-low ERA of 14.10, and team-high 24 strikeouts. Brittany Santellanes has an ERA of 14.73 with 10 strikeouts in 22.0 innings. Vanessa Hunt rounds out the pitching staff with a 15.03 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 58.2 innings.
UT Permian Basin
The Falcons enter the weekend with an overall record of 5-29 and a 3-21 mark in LSC play. UTPB will face West Texas A&M on Friday before coming to Portales. Last Sunday, the Falcons split a doubleheader against Cameron. They lost the first game, 10-4 and won the second contest, 3-0.
Aracely Araiza leads the team in batting average (.291) and RBI (17). Alicia Marion has a . 286 batting average, 30 hits, and five doubles. April Arellano has contributed 24 hits, 12 runs, eight doubles, and 15 RBI.
Abrie Castillo has a team-low ERA of 3.23. Becky Berth has pitched 81.2 innings this season with an ERA of 5.57 and 44 strikeouts.
