PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Track & Field will compete in its third meet in the last three weeks, this week the Greyhounds will compete in the UNM Team Open hosted by the University of New Mexico. The meet will take place at the Albuquerque Convention Center, in Albuquerque, N.M.

Eastern are now halfway through its indoor schedule, following competition at the Texas Tech Corky Classic and the Dr. MLK Collegiate Invitational. ENMU are less than a month away from competing in the 2022 Lone Star Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships held on Feb. 26-27 at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center in Lubbock, Texas.

Last week in the Dr. MLK Invitational several Greyhounds recorded personal best and set new top five marks in the ENMU All-Time record book.
Dan Hurren posted the second fasted time in ENMU history for the 600-meter dash, 1:21.85, setting a personal best in the process. The 4x400 meter relay team of
Iziah Hall, Hurren,
Devis Cheruiyot, and
Japhet Toroitich placed second in the event with a time of 3:22.25, landing in 5
th in the ENMU record books.

Meanwhile,
Tamia Smith broke a personal best in weight throw (14.15m, 46' 5.25") and marked a top-five record in ENMU track & field history.
Arianna Hayde produced a leap of 5.44m (17' 10.25") in the long jump, the second longest jump in program history for indoor track & field.
Malethabo Seema closed the day with another top-five record for the ENMU history books in the 600 meter run, a time of 1:38.43 placed fourth in the ENMU history books and ninth at the meet.
