Men's Basketball Set To Take On Cameron And West Texas A&M

PORTALES, NM - The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team continues Lone Star Conference action with games at Cameron University and West Texas A&M University this weekend. The Greyhounds take on the Aggies at 6:30 p.m. (MT) on Thursday, February 10 before taking on the No. 19/24 nationally-ranked Buffaloes at 3 p.m. (MT) on Saturday, Feb. 12. 


LAST TIME OUT

• The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team enters the week with a 6-13 overall record and 2-8 mark in Lone Star Conference play. ENMU fell, 83-77, to DBU on February 3 before the Hounds were handed a 71-49 loss by Midwestern State on Feb. 5
• Against DBU, Kentrell Pullian led Eastern with a double-double. He netted a team-high 17 points to go with 10 rebounds. Pullian also dished out eight assists. Adam Hess added 15 points, while Yosnier Cobas and Cornell Greenwood each had 12 points. Rounding out the double-digit scoring for the Hounds was Marvin Mapaga with 10 points.
• Against Midwestern State, Mapaga paced the ENMU offense with a team-high 15 points. He also led the way on the glass with seven rebounds. Pullian added nine points, while Cobas, Jared Perry, and Hess all chipped in six points each. Greenwood finished the night with a team-high three steals.


SCOUTING THE COMPETITION 

Cameron University 
• Cameron enters the weekend with a 2-14 overall record and 0-9 record in Lone Star Conference play. 
• On Feb. 8, the Aggies fell, 85-81, to Texas A&M-Commerce. Brock Shreiner paced all scorers with 29 points, while Connor Slater added 19 points. Kenyon Holcombe pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds.
• Cameron is led offensively by Colt Savage with 15.2 points per game. Schreiner adds 12.9 points per game, while Slater contributes 11.1 points per game. On the glass, Slater leads the way with 6.3 rebounds per game.

#19/24 West Texas A&M 
• West Texas A&M enters the weekend with an 20-5 record and 6-4 mark in conference play. The Buffaloes will face No. 3 nationally-ranked Lubbock Christian on Feb. 10 before facing the Greyhounds. 
• WT defeated Cameron University, 85-72, on Feb. 5. Julius Brown led the offense with 23 points. Hayden Blankley and Larry Wise each chipped in 16 points. Blankley also led the team in rebounds with 10, while Kavon Booker pulled down eight rebounds. 
• Offensively, Zach Toussaint paced the team with 15.4 points per game. Wise is close behind, averaging 14.8 point per game. On the boards, Booker averages 6.7 rebounds per game.
