PORTALES, N.M. – After finishing off a solid indoor season, Eastern New Mexico Track & Field take the outdoor track for the first time this season at the WT Spring Break Classic. The meet will be held on the campus of West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas at the WTAMU Track & Field Complex on Saturday, Mar. 19, with events scheduled to start at 12 pm.
The Greyhounds have had three weeks of rest and recovery sense its performance at the 2022 LSC Indoor Track & Field Championships. Seven Eastern runners picked up all-conference accolades with
Malethabo Seema landing on the first team all-conference after winning the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 2:16.12.
Additionally,
Aminata Kenyawani finished on the second in the 5,000-meter run too land on the all-conference second team.
Arianna Hayde was placed on the all-conference third team for their performances in the long jump and triple jump. The distance medley relay team of
Lethabo Seema,
Alisha Hayde,
Kaylyn De la Rosa, and
Marta Pascoa claimed third place and earning third team all-conference.
Eastern will take part in six meets during the outdoor season before heading to Kingsville, Texas for the 2022 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship, hosted by Texas A&M-Kingsville, on May 5
