PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Track & Field prepare for the 2022 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Track & Field championships this weekend. The Hounds make the trip to Kingsville, Texas and compete at Pepsi Field at Javelina Stadium, on the campus of Texas A&M-Kingsville. The three-day championships will hold 21 separate events for both Men's and Women's championships, with 12 teams competing for the Women's Championship and 11 teams competing for the Men's Championship.
On the track,
Malethabo Seema will look to defend their title in the 800 meters, after winning the event in the 2021 LSC OTF championship and 2022 LSC ITF championship.
Lethabo Seema joins M. Seema in the 800 meters, and L. Seema will also compete in the 1500 meters with
Dorcas Kosgei.

Marta Pascoa will compete in the 3,000-meter steeplechase on Saturday evening.
Aminata Kenyawani will take part in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters, with Kosgei and Pascoa competing in the 5,000 meters. On the men's side,
Kelvin Kipkemboi will race in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters.
Japhet Toroitich will race in the 400 meters, and
Devis Cheruiyot and
Dan Hurren will compete in the 800 meters.

In the throwing events,
Tamia Smith and
Tatiana Hall will both compete in the hammer throw and discus throw, while Smith will also take part in the shot put, and Hall will throw the Javelin.
Arianna Hayde will compete in the javelin with Hall, along with taking part in the long jump and triple jump.
Paige Graham will represent ENMU in the pole vault.

- Fans planning on attending the championship can purchase tickets online or at the gate. Tickets are $15 per day and $25 for a three-day pass.
