Garvin Recognized to LSC All-Conference Second-Team

The Senior earned their third All-LSC accolade of their career.

DALLAS, Texas – Mikaela Garvin has been named Lone Star Conference All-Conference Second Team after a standout season, as announced at the 2023 LSC Volleyball Championship on Wednesday evening. Garvin earns their fourth career LSC award.

Garvin earns their fourth LSC accolade after receiving LSC Freshman of the Year and All-Freshman Team honors in 2021, while being named to the LSC All-Conference Second Team in 2022. This season, Garvin led the Greyhounds with 386 kills (3.54 k/s) this season and 459.5 points (4.22 p/s). Among the rest of the LSC, Garvin landed 5th in the LSC for kills per set (3.54 k/s) and finished 2nd for points per set (4.22 p/s). Garvin's blocking was a huge contribution to the Greyhounds this season, finishing with 97.0 total blocks (eight solo blocks, 89 block assists), landing in 15th in the LSC for blocks per set (0.89 b/s).

Nationally, Garvin finished 77th in the nation for kills per set and 47th for points per set. For totals, the San Antonio, Texas native is 40th in all of Division II for total kills and 85th for total blocks. Garvin highlighted the season tying a single-match record for kills with 29 against Wayland Baptist (10/31/23). In the same match, Garvin's 32.0 points is the 3rd best tally in program history. Garvin finished their ENMU career with 883 kills, landing in 10th in program history all-time.

The Greyhounds completed the 2023 season this past Friday finishing with a record of 11-20. The Greyhounds will graduate seven members of the program this coming 2023 Winter Commencement and the 2024 Spring Commencement.
