PORTALES, N.M – To conclude the 2023 volleyball season, Eastern New Mexico Volleyball held its 2023 banquet, giving out several team voted awards following the season.
Gracelyn Stubbs was voted Most Valuable Greyhound of the Year. The middle blocker/setter had an immense impact on the team on both offense and defense. Stubbs completed the season as the leading blocker for the Greyhounds with 111.0 blocks (1.02 blocks per set), both figures are top-10 in the LSC. Additionally, Stubbs finished second on the team for total kills (258 kills, 2.37 kills per set), total assists (503 assists, 4.61 assists per set), 25 service aces (0.23 service aces per set), total digs (221 digs, 2.03 digs per set), and total points (348.0, 3.19 points per set).
Mikaela Garvin received Offensive Player of the Year honors, leading the team in kills and points, while earning LSC All-Conference 2
nd team accolades. Garvin provided 459.5 points (4.22 points per set), both being 2
nd in the Lone Star Conference. Garvin also led the team with 386 kills (3.54 k/s) and finished 2
nd for total blocks (97.0 total blocks, 0.89 blocks per set).
Getsemani Carrasco earned the team's Defensive Player of the Year award, pacing the team in digs and digs per set throughout the season. The senior libero led the LSC in digs per set (5.53 d/s) and total digs (575). Currently, 5.53 d/s is the 8
th best mark in all of Division II, while 575 total digs stand in 16
th prior to the start of the 2023 NCAA Division II Volleyball Tournament. 5.53 digs per set tied a school season record for the highest digs per set in a single season.

Darcy Dodd earned the Zia Spirit award, while Stubbs and
Kinzie Davis received the Blue Collar award, which is given to the teams hardest worker.
Greyhound volleyball also acknowledged its six graduating seniors: Carrasco, Davis,
Deziree Flowers, Garvin,
Rylee Mapes, and
Kali Nelson.
