PORTALES, N.M. – Entering the last week of April, both Eastern New Mexico Baseball and Eastern New Mexico Softball are on the cusp of reaching the Lone Star Conference Tournament heading into the final weekend. The LSC postseason for baseball and softball will begin next week, but the tournament field has not been decided. The programs are in the mix to make the postseason tournament in baseball and softball. The LSC Baseball Tournament will take the top eight teams for a best of three opening round, followed by a double elimination tournament with the remaining four teams. Meanwhile, the LSC Softball tournament will feature the top ten teams for a single elimination bracket to determine a tournament champion.

TIE BREAKER POLICY
Baseball vs Lubbock Christian – Four Game Series Apr. 28-30 – Portales, N.M.
Head coach
Riley Price and the Greyhounds end their season with a four-game home series against Lubbock Christian University, with the Chaps looking to secure a first-round home series. The Greyhounds can finish as high as 7
th and could finish as low as 10
th place.
Â
Simply put, if the Greyhounds (20-23 in LSC, 7
th place) win two games they will secure playoff baseball for just the fifth time in program history. Other key matchups determining the seeding will be St. Mary's (20-24 in LSC, 8
th place) heading to Cameron (12-32 in LSC, 12
th place), as the Rattlers are behind the Greyhounds by just 0.5 games.
Â
Texas A&M International (18-26 in LSC, 9
th place) will face a tough challenge as they travel to #15 St. Edward's (30-13 in LSC, 3
rd place), with the Dustdevils trailing ENMU by 2.5 games. Finally, UT Permian Basin (17-27 in LSC, 10
th place) will battle Oklahoma Christian (13-31 in LSC, 11
th place) at home for their season finale. To reach the postseason, the Falcons will need to win four games of their series and hope the teams above them fail to win a game this weekend.
Softball vs Texas A&M-Kingsville – Three Game Series Apr. 28-29 – Portales, N.M.
As for the ENMU Softball Program, there is only one remaining spot in the 10-team tournament making things clear for head coach
Amanda Fefel and company. The Greyhounds (16-23 in LSC, 10
th place) will battle the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville (19-19 in LSC, 8
th place) at home.
Â
Two victories over the Javelinas will secure the program's first postseason berth since 2002 and would be just the third time ENMU has reached the LSC Tournament. Right behind the Greyhounds, Texas Woman's (15-24 in LSC, 11
th place) will have three-games at home against Western New Mexico (6-33 in LSC, 14
th place), hoping to better the Greyhounds results from this weekend with ENMU holding the head-to-head tiebreaker.
Â
Texas A&M International (15-24 in LSC, 12
th place) will hope to knock off #3 UT Tyler (36-2 in LSC, 1
st place) with the Dustdevils needing to win outright, as TAMIU doesn't have any tiebreakers if they were to finish with the same conference record as ENMU or TWU. If all three teams were to finish with the same LSC record, ENMU would advance after a pair of tie breakers.
