PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico track and field continues its 2023 campaign with a trip to West Texas A&M for the Jo Meaker Classic. Before the Greyhounds compete in the two-day event, please take a look at the Eight Lane Preview:

1.) Streaming Available: West Texas A&M will be streaming the meet on the Lone Star Conference Digital Network. The stream will run on Friday and Saturday and can be viewed here.

2.) The Overview: Between the two dates of competition, Eastern New Mexico has 42 entries into the meet. The Greyhounds will participate in several throws, jumps, sprints, and mid-distance events.

3.) Friday Field Outlook: Noe Ybaben, Tamia Smith, and Tatiana Hall will be competing in the hammer throw for Eastern. Ashlynn Evans is the only entry for the Hounds in the long jump as she looks to improve on her top jump of 5.13m (16' 10").

4.) In The Air: The team will also have a pair of entries in the pole vault (Luis Holguin and Paige Graham) set for Saturday. Graham's personal record came at the 2022 TTU Corky Classic where she cleared 3.37m (11' 0.75"). Holguin snagged a career top mark two weeks ago with a 4.26m (13' 11.75") result at the TTU Masked Rider Open.

5.) Records Keep Coming: Alex Williams beat out his previous best throw by almost five meters two weeks ago at the Willie Williams Classic hosted by the University of Arizona. The freshman took fourth in the event with a 65.12m (213' 8") mark and looks to continue improving with another meet this week.

6.) Relay Time: ENMU will have an entry in the 4x100 for the first time this season. The runners expected to compete include Jaliyah Denny, Meghan Rodriguez, Mahault Lebrun, and Ashlynn Evans. The record time has lasted since 2019 as a quad of Eastern sprinters finished in 45.56 seconds. The Greyhounds will also see Lebrun, Rodriguez, Kaylyn De La Rosa, and Savannah Romero participate in the 4x400. The program record was hit in 2018 with a 3:54.65 time at the WT Invitational in Canyon.

7.) Large Grouping: Eight Hounds will compete in the 400m race for Eastern New Mexico. Meghan Rodriguez and Savannah Romero will be on the track for the women's side while Timothy Frederick, Devis Cheruiyot, Jude Murray, John Magee, Aiden Kepfer, and Alex Williams are in action for the men.

8.) Results Coming: The meet also provides live stats for fans to keep up with all of the events happening at the Jo Meaker Classic.
