INDIANAPOLIS – Alex Williams and Timothy Frederick will compete at the 2023 NCAA outdoor track and field championships hosted by Colorado State University, Pueblo at the CSU Pueblo ThunderBowl.

"This is something they worked really hard for," said head coach Joshua Harden on two student-athletes qualifying for the meet. "We're grateful to compete at this level. Our goal is to go out and capitalize on the opportunity to represent Eastern New Mexico University on the national stage."

Williams will participate in his first NCAA championship event. The freshman is set to throw in the javelin Saturday, May 27 at 2:45 p.m. He enters the competition with the twelfth best mark at 65.12m (213' 8"), which was his result at the Willie Williams Classic hosted by the University of Arizona.

Frederick is competing in his second NCAA championship as he finished 12th at the indoor championships in the 200m earlier this year. The junior will be running the 400m race with a personal best time coming at the Jo Meaker Classic – 46.94s. The prelims will take place on Thursday, May 25 at 5:55 p.m.

Heat sheets are expected to be released on Monday, May 22.
