Four represent Greyhounds with All-LSC track and field recognition

Tamia Smith headlines group that earns honors from Lone Star Conference

RICHARDSON, Texas – Four Eastern New Mexico student-athletes have been recognized for their accomplishments as members of the All-LSC team.

"This is a testament to their hard work and the foundation we are building for this program," said head coach Joshua Harden when told about the news. "Our staff has high expectations for this program and we hope to put ourselves in better position next year."

The list of all-conference performers includes the first team, which consists of event winners, all members of the winning relay teams, and athletes scoring 14 or more points at the LSC Championships.

The second team includes athletes on the second-place relay teams and those scoring 8-13.9 points, while the third team recognizes members of third-place relay teams and athletes scoring 6-7.9 points. The individual awards were voted upon by the league coaches.

Tamia Smith is the only ENMU student-athlete on the All-LSC second team. The junior standout took second in the shot put after an impressive 13.71m (44' 11.75") throw. She accomplished the feat on her third throw of the competition. She took fourth in the hammer with a toss of 46.85m (153' 8").

Her fellow throws teammate, Kennedy Ulmer, earned third team recognition. The freshman from Rio Rancho, New Mexico took seventh in the shot put with a personal best 12.78m (41' 11.25"). She also posted a solid throw in the discus at 42.32m (138' 10") to finish in fifth.

On the men's side, Timothy Frederick garnered third team honors with a seventh-place finish in the 200m at 20.99s. He took fifth in the 400m with a time of 47.17s and helped ENMU's 4x400 team place eighth with a 3:22.92s result.

Alex Williams earned third team recognition after a podium finish in the javelin at the outdoor championships. His 64.49m (211' 7") throw earned him his first LSC honor and helped the team earn six points for his efforts.
