PORTALES, N.M. – The 2023 NCAA DII outdoor track and field championships are just one day way and two Eastern New Mexico University student-athletes are competing in the meet. Before
Timothy Frederick and
Alex Williams set center stage, please take a look at the Eight Lane Preview:
1.) The Schedule:Â Timothy Frederick will be the first to compete for ENMU this week. The 400m prelims are set for 5:55 p.m. Thursday. Frederick is in heat three. The two best runners in each heat and the next two best times qualify for finals set to run Saturday at 6:25 p.m.
Alex Williams will be throwing in flight one on Saturday at 2:25 p.m.
2.) Where They Stand: Frederick has hit NCAA provisional marks in three different events this season. The first-year Hound earned a spot at the championships after holding the twentieth quickest time at 47.05s. Williams is in a good position to earn All-American honors. The freshman comes into the meet with the twelfth best throw among DII marks at 65.12m (213' 8"). Both set the school records in their respective events in 2023.

Alex Williams is going to compete in his first ever NCAA championship. He comes into the competition after taking third at the 2023 LSC outdoor track and field championships and earning All-Region recognition. Check out how he is feeling going into the week's competition:
