SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • Head Men's Soccer Coach Brandon Misuraca returns for his second season, following the team's first season after reinstatement with a 5-8-2 record. Leading scorer, Alexandre Meres, returns for his second season with ENMU, along with 18 other returners from the 2022 squad.
  • Paul Waschkau and Felix Drizinsky led the program in minutes in 2022, and they are both back wearing Green and Silver. In the midfield, Loris Tsiatsipy anchored the team with 1067 minutes screening the backline, while Ben Sauerländer is back in the team after contributing three goals and an assist in 2022 on the wing.
  • Misuraca bolsters the group with 15 reinforcements, with a mixture of college transfers and first year student athletes. Nick Huenig and Giani Mascarel both come from NCAA Division II programs (Francis Marion and Northeastern State, respectively), each contributing four goals in the 2022 season. Several junior college transfers will also be in contention to make the lineup, while Misuraca brings in three new local products playing for their home state.

SCOUTING ADAMS STATE

  • Following a 1-15-2 season last year, the Grizzles hope to kick off the season on the right foot against the Greyhounds. The team posted 13 goals in 18 matches, while giving up 74 goals over the season. The two programs met in 2022, with the Greyhounds coming away with a 2-1 victory.
  • The current Adams State team retained two of their top three goal scorers from a season prior. Ranulfo Lopez led the group with three assists and contributed three goals, leading the team with nine points over the season. Avery Richards poached two goals and two assists in their first year with the program and will look to provide for ADSU starting every match last season.
  • Zach Carr is slated to stand in between the posts for Adams State, leading the team in goalie minutes (795:07), games played (10), and saves (55) last season. Their goals against average of 3.74 was the lowest among the Grizzles, while their 0.625 save percentage led the program.

SCOUTING FORT LEWIS

  • The Skyhawks will enter Saturday's match after playing Lubbock Christian University on Thursday, Aug. 31, before playing ENMU. FLC finished 4-11-2 in 2022, finishing 3-7 in RMAC play. Last season's top scorer, Gabriel Legendre, returns for Fort Lewis following a season that saw them receive All-RMAC Second Team recognition, with seven goals and five assists in 2022.
  • Not far behind, Loic Jean-Baptiste is back for the Skyhawks after scoring six goals and providing two assists in 2022. The coaching staff retained 13 student-athletes, while bringing in 17 new members to the team (10 first-year students and seven transfers).
  • Last year, Albuquerque, N.M. native Evan Kowalski led the goalkeeping department as just a first year for FLC. Kowalski finished with 13 games played with 12 starts, providing 61 saves and 0.718 save percentage. Their 2.00 goals against per game was enough to earn three wins and a draw with one shutout back in 2022.
