PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Women's Soccer will play its home opener this week, against New Mexico Highland on Wednesday, Sept. 6, with kickoff slated for 6 p.m. Then, the Greyhounds will head to Kearney, Nebraska for a pair of neutral site games. ENMU will tangle with Drury University on Friday, Sept. 8, beginning at 10 a.m. (MST), then Eastern will match up with Quincy University on Sunday, Sept. 10, with a scheduled start time of 10 a.m. (MST).
TUNE IN
- This weekend's games will be covered on the LSC Network and the MIAA Network. The LSC Digital Network will now offer a single game pass for $15, a monthly pass for $30, and a yearly pass for $140. The MIAA offer a single game pass for $15.
- The Hounds start the week in Portales, N.M. on Wednesday, and will play a pair of neutral site games in Kearney, Neb. Admission to ENMU home women's soccer games is free, while with both matches in Kearney admission will also be free.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern came off an undefeated weekend in Colorado, forcing a 0-0 draw with Adams State, while settling for a 1-1 draw with Fort Lewis as Haley Huff scored the Greyhounds goal. Both draws mark the first time that ENMU have started the season with two draws in program history, and the first time ENMU earned a point against FLC away from home in the series history.
- Additionally, Sofia Trejo and Samantha Jeffries were both recognized with Lone Star Conference Weekly Honors. Trejo garnered LSC Defensive Player of the Week after playing every minute of the first two games with a shutout. Jeffries received the LSC Goalkeeper of the Week accolade after earning a shutout and making seven saves over the two games.
- After the opening two games of the season, ENMU are finding 6.5 shots per game while finding 13 shots total so far. Defensively, the Greyhounds have made seven saves on the season. Assisting Huff's goal, Abbie Dickens has ENMU's assist, while several different Greyhounds contribute in terms of shots and shots on goal.
SCOUTING NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS
- New Mexico Highlands will play their first game of the regular season, having last played an exhibition match against Southwest (N.M.). In 2022, the Cowgirls finished 1-15, with a 1-11 record in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Greyhounds and Cowgirls matched up in 2022, with ENMU coming away with a 2-0 victory.
- NMHU brought back top scorer Kate Rayner, who found the back of the net twice during the season. Other key returners include Gentri Granere, who led the team in minutes played with 16 games played and 15 starts. The goalkeeping position is up for grabs as the Cowgirls have two first-year goalies listed on their roster.
SCOUTING DRURY
- The Panthers enter the weekend at 1-1 on the season, following a 2-0 defeat against Washburn, then a 2-1 victory over Northwest Mo. St. Drury found just two shots on target against Washburn, while completing a comeback over Northwest Mo. St. In the win over the Bearcats, Christine Harpe started the scoring in the 26th minute, then Mel Schneider scored shortly after to take the lead.
- On the offensive side of the ball, Drury is finding 11.5 shots per game, with three of those shots going on goal. Both goals were assisted, giving the team six points on the season. Tara Simon leads the unit with four shots this season and Scheider has a pair of shots on goal.
- Kaitlin Knetzke played both games in goal over the weekend, holding a record of 1-1 with a shutout. Their seven saves this season and three goals allowed lead to 1.50 goals against average. Senior defender Andrea Camargo is also an integral part of the Panthers defense, playing every minute of the season so far.
SCOUTING QUINCY
- The Hawks are in search of their first win following an 0-2 weekend to start the season. Quincy matched up against Davenport, falling 5-0, then facing Saginaw Valley State and dropping a 4-2 decision. Davenport scored five goals with just eight shots on goal, while Saginaw Valley State finished the match with 28 shots and 15 shots on goal.
- Ella Wolford and Lisa Albarran each scored a goal in the defeat to Saginaw Valley State, while Albarran assisted the opening goal. As a team, Quincy is finding 5.5 shots per game with seven shots on goal so far between the two games. Wolford and Albarran lead the team in shots and shots on goal.
- Julia Mincher has had a difficult start in goal conceding nine goals from 23 shots on goal, and 42 shots faced. Mincher posted 11 saves against Saginaw Valley State, while making three stops against Davenport.
