PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's cross country is set for a twilight run hosted by Midwestern State. Before the Hounds head to MSU for the meet, please take a look at the Cross Country Preview:
Back In Action – ENMU will compete for the second time this season. This meet will take place just five days after the Lori Fitzgerald Memorial Open. Last season the Greyhounds competed in the Mustang Derby and five runners on the 2022 squad have ran the course. Those Hounds include
Ricky Diaz,
Ethan Woodrome,
Kaylyn De La Rosa,
Elise Toya, and
Lauren Griego.
First One Down – Maritza Alvarez,
Matthew Guerra, and
Emmanuel Hernandez completed their first races as members of the cross country squad last week. Alvarez finished with the second best result for the women while Guerra earned the top finish for the men's program. The field featured a trio of DI institutions and conference foe Western New Mexico.
The Layout – The race will take place at River Creek Golf Course in Burkburnett, Texas. The women are expected to run a 4k race at 7:05 p.m. while the men are slated for a 6k run at 7:35 p.m. The course uses one half of the golf course and features a hilly par five on the north side of the track. Last year, MSU hosted the Lone Star Conference cross country championships on the same course.
As of September 6, no page has been setup for live results.
