PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Softball returns to the Land of Enchantment for a road in-state clash with Western New Mexico. The midweek three-game starts on Tuesday, Feb. 20, with a doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The teams play game three on Wednesday, Feb. 21, beginning at 12 p.m.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDSÂ
Eastern played their first LSC series this past weekend, taking one game from Texas A&M International. During the Greyhounds victory, ENMU put up 12 hits in a 12-3 (5 Inn.) victory.
Alondra Vasquez and
Taighen Whitzel each finished with three RBIs in the win. For the other two games, the Dustdevils scrapped past ENMU with a 5-3 and a 3-2 victory.
Currently, ENMU are in the top three in the LSC for batting average (.367, 2
nd), on-base percentage (.451, 2
nd), slugging percentage (.572, 2
nd), runs (94, 2
nd), RBIs (82, 2
nd), hits (108, 3
rd), and stolen bases (21, 3
rd). The Greyhounds have posted 41 extra-base hits, while hitting seven home runs. In the circle, Eastern post a 3.23 ERA with 36 runs allowed, 41 strikeouts, and an opposing batting average of .260.

Whitzel has been one of the top hitters in the conference so far this season, holding a .559 batting average (3
rd in LSC), while leading the conference with 19 RBIs, along with 19 hits. Vasquez also has been key for the Hounds success this season, scoring 14 runs (team best, 3
rd in LSC), with 17 hits, and 16 RBIs (3
rd in LSC).
Mikenzey Patterson has 10 hits in just five games this season, with a .588 batting average.
Emma Southerland is 4-0 in four starts this season, leading the team with 16 strikeouts. Marissa Rodirguez paces the teams in innings pitched (25.0) and ERA (3.08).
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
Western New Mexico currently stand at 5-5 on the season and took two games from St. Mary's in their opening LSC series. WNMU won the series opener, 6-2, while the Rattlers won the second game of the doubleheader, 11-5. Then, Western N.M. won the series finale on a walk-off single to win 6-5.
As a team, WNMU provide a .295 batting average with 82 hits and scoring 48 runs. The Mustangs have 19 extra base hits the season, drawing 36 walks, and bringing in 41 RBIs. Western New Mexico's pitching staff holds a 5.35 ERA, striking out 40 batters and giving out 35 walks. WNMU has given up 61 runs with on 85 hits, with opponents hitting .295 against the Mustangs.
Ramona Fossum leads the team with a .419 batting average, with a team high two homeruns and seven RBIs. Ana Armijo leads the team with 11 runs scored and seven RBIs from 10 hits this season, while Adlai Alvidrez paces the team with 14 hits and a .389 batting average.Kamerynn Cordova and Labradia Tenorio have started nine of the Mustangs 10 games this season holding an ERA of 5.04 and 5.34, respectively. Tenorio has a team high 21 strikeouts and a 2-2 record, while Cordova has a team high 25.0 innings pitched in five appearances.
