PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico men's and women's outdoor track and field will compete in eight meets in 2024, with aspirations to qualify for nationals in May.
"I am looking forward to the outdoor season," said head coach
Joshua Harden. "It will be great to host a meet at Greyhound Stadium. We are hoping the community can come out and help at the meet this year."
This season's schedule showcases meets in five different states, including a home meet slated for March 30. It will mark the first home competition for Eastern New Mexico track and field since 2019 – the same year ENMU hosted the conference outdoor championships.
The Greyhounds will begin outdoor competition in Canyon, Texas March 15-16. They will return to West Texas A&M April 5-6.
The other early season meet for ENMU is March 22-23 as the team heads to the University of Arizona for the Willie Williams Classic. The program attended the Tucson, Ariz. meet during the 2023 season.
April boasts three opportunities for the Hounds to attend meets hosted at DI institutions. The first will be held at the University of Oklahoma April 12-13. They will then head to the University of New Mexico April 19-20. Lastly, they will conclude the regular season at Texas Tech April 26-27.
This year, Angelo State hosts the 2024 Lone Star Conference championship meet. The events are slated for May 9-11 in San Angelo, Texas.
The 2024 season will conclude at the NCAA DII outdoor track and field championships hosted by Emporia State University in Kansas.
