DENVER – The Conference Commissioner's Association (CCA) announced the 2023-24 all-south central region men's basketball team honorees and senior wing
Jahcoree Ealy was named to the list as a first team member.
"Shout out to my teammates and my family. I want to thank God," said Ealy when he learned about the recognition. "This is a blessing for everything I worked for. Everything done in the dark comes out in the light."
The first team honorees include Trevor Baskin (Colorado Mesa),
Jahcoree Ealy (Eastern New Mexico), Cameron Kahn (Dallas Baptist), Matthew Ragsdale (Black Hills State), and Larry Wise (West Texas A&M).
ENMU's 6-7 wing recently was named the Lone Star Conference tournament MVP after scoring 62 points over the course of three wins against Angelo State, Cameron, and Lubbock Christian to come back to Portales with the tourney title.
In the championship game he scored 21 points and swatted three shot attempts. Ealy is averaging 20.7 points per game and shooting at a 61.8% (178-288) clip (leading the LSC in both statistical categories).
Honorees are chosen by sports information directors in the Lone Star Conference and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Conway, Ark. native and the Greyhounds are back in action tomorrow for a 12 p.m. CT tip against Colorado Mesa in the opening round of the 2024 NCAA DII men's basketball championship tournament.
