TUCSON, Ariz. – Eastern New Mexico men's track and field went against some of the best collegiate competition this weekend at the Willie Williams Classic hosted by the University of Arizona.

"We had a great weekend," said head coach Joshua Harden after the meet. "The weather, the competition, and the atmosphere was there. These are the performances as a staff we want to see come together."

ENMU left the meet with two student-athletes earning NCAA DII provisional marks and one of them holding the top time among DII runners.

The 2024 indoor all-american, Timothy Frederick ran a personal top time of 20.72s in the 200m. The senior student-athlete was "amazed" with the performance as he commented on the run that ranks first in the nation.

His teammate Alex Williams also made a national provisional mark. Williams threw 66.22m (217-3) in the javelin for a personal best throw and sits fifth place nationally.

"To go out there on Friday and open my season with a new personal best says a lot," said Williams after the javelin competition. "I believe that the team did really well this weekend. There were multiple PR's."

Five other Greyhounds earned personal best results in the two-day event. Those student-athletes include Jude Murray in the 100m who ran 10.72s, Tre Buchanan in the 400m at 48.61s, Luis Holguin with a 4.30m (14-1.25) clearance in the pole vault, Noe Ybaben Burciaga with a 13.88m (45-6.5) toss in the shot put, and Devin Gallegos throwing the javelin 42.57m (139-8).
