FRISCO, Texas – The Lone Star Conference announced the postseason awards for men's basketball tonight at the awards ceremony. Three Eastern New Mexico student-athletes are among the honorees.
Greg Johnson led the way for ENMU as he received two awards at the annual banquet.
The senior from Little Rock, Arkansas was named a first team all-conference player and a member of the all-academic team.
Johnson had a breakthrough season in 2023-24 for Eastern New Mexico as he helped the team win 19 regular season games. He averaged 17.8 points per contest along with 2.7 assists per contest. He scored more than 30 points four times this season – all against conference teams.
The senior went 60-for-118 (.508) from behind the arc and has posted 99 total rebounds. He earned Lone Star Conference offensive player of the week twice this year.
He holds a 3.62 GPA and will graduate with a degree in university studies in May. He plans to pursue professional basketball and coaching after his playing career concludes.
Only five players in the Lone Star Conference earn a spot on the all-academic team and eight players receive first team honors.
Jahcoree Ealy is a back-to-back second team all-conference honoree after a season that saw him lead the LSC in scoring (20.7 ppg) and field goal percentage (.612). He was named national player of the week after a performance that saw him score 31 points on the road versus UT Tyler and a career-high 42 points against a ranked DBU program.
The Conway, Arkansas native is going to graduate with a degree in university studies in May and is seeking professional basketball opportunities after his time at ENMU concludes.
Conrad Luczynski was named to the all-freshmen team. The 7-3 freshman provided great support to the team off the bench playing in all 28 games in 2023-24. He averaged 6.4 points and 5.3 rebounds per outing while blocking a whopping 33 shot attempts.
One of his best games came in a win versus the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith as he scored 14 points in 23 minutes of action. He sunk six field goals in the win. He also holds the school record with blocks in a single game as he swatted seven shots in a win over Northern New Mexico this season.
Most famously, the 7-3 first year is known for his buzzer-beating three point shot versus Oklahoma Christian.
ENMU men's basketball now sets eyes towards the first round of the Lone Star Conference tournament. They will face (5) Angelo State at 8:30 p.m. CT.
