PORTALES, N.M. – The Greyhounds play at home for the first time this month, as they face Oklahoma Christian. The three-game series starts on Saturday, Apr. 13, with a doubleheader scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The series finale between the two teams is scheduled for 12 p.m., on Sunday, Apr. 14.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS 

The Greyhounds (21-20, 14-19 LSC) come into the series after taking one game from their away trip against Texas Woman's. After the Pioneers won the opening game, 9-3, the Greyhounds grabbed the second game of the day 6-3 in 11 innings. Marissa Rodriguez tossed a complete game during the win, with an RBI single from Cecy Jurado jump starting a three-run 11^th inning. In the final game of the series,  TWU got out to a 7-0 lead and held a Eastern comeback attempt, with the game ending 7-3.

ENMU remain one of the top hitting teams in the LSC, landing in the top-five for most statistical hitting categories in the LSC: batting average (.314, 3^rd), on-base percentage (.400, 3^rd), slugging percentage (.515, 2^nd), hits (338, 4^th), runs (240, 3^rd), and RBI's (216, 3^rd). In the circle, Eastern New Mexico has a 4.73 ERA, striking out 146 hitters and allowing 198 runs from 302 hits.
 
Taighen Whitzel leads the team with a .425 batting average, pacing the team in hits (54), slugging percentage (.756), and walks (20). Alondra Vasquez leads the team in runs scored (34), along with RBIs (43). Mikenzey Patterson is just under the .400 batting average mark (.391), hitting lead-off for the Greyhounds with a team best six triples. Rodriguez leads the team with a 3.26 ERA, tossing 101.0 innings this season with a 9-8 record and 47 strikeouts. Jordan Rivera is just behind for ERA (4.47 ERA), while Emma Southerland has a team best 53 strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE EAGLES

Oklahoma Christian (27-16, 22-11 LSC) is currently tied for 3^rd place in the LSC standings. The Eagles began the season ranked, picked up six wins this season against nationally ranked opponents. During its last series, OC split a non-conference doubleheader with #4 Rogers State, winning the first game 3-0 (9 Inn.), and falling in a walk off in game two 1-0 (9 Inn.). Oklahoma Christian recently took a pair of games against Texas A&M-Kingsville, in its last LSC series.
 
OC sport a .256 batting average as a team, with 292 hits, scoring 145 runs, along with 128 RBIs. Oklahoma Christian has accumulated 78 extra base hits, posting 53 doubles,13 triples, and 12 home runs. The Eagles' pitching staff is 4^th in the LSC for ERA (2.56), recording 190 strikeouts this season. Oklahoma Christian has allowed 121 runs, on 251 hits, with opponents hitting just .227. OC are also one of the top fielding teams in the conference, with a .977 fielding percentage this season (2^nd in LSC).
 
The offense is led by Kadence Brewster, sporting a .312 batting average with a team best 44 hits and 18 RBIs. Brooklin Bain gets on base frequently, drawing 21 walks and leading the team with 25 runs scored, along with a team best four home runs. Kylie Brewster and Whitney Walde both have a batting average over .300 (.301 and .300, respectively), as Brewster, Bain, Kristen Whitehouse, and Aaliyah Brown all add 14 RBIs. Jill Dickson and Grace Anderson anchor the OC pitching staff, making 39 combined starts of a possible 43. Dickson marks a 2.87 ERA, leading the team with 96 strikeouts. Meanwhile, Anderson has a 2.94 ERA and a team best 13-7 record with four shutouts.
