RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico Softball's
Aylene Lucero earned Lone Star Conference (LSC) Hitter of the Week honors, as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon. The graduate student earned their first player of the week accolade of their career, and the first by a Greyhound this season.
Batting as the leadoff hitter for the Greyhounds, Lucero hit .667 over five games at the WT Invitational. The Albuquerque, N.M. native supplied 10 hits over the weekend, sporting a slugging percentage of 1.133, with a pair of doubles, a triple, and home run. Lucero scored nine times, recording six RBIs, drawing five walks, and swiping five bases. So far this season, the outfielder leads the conference in runs scored (17), hits (21), and stolen bases (9), while sitting in second for RBIs (17) and doubles (6) so far this season.
ENMU come home to play their conference opener against Texas A&M International on Friday, February 14, with the doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.
