PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Softball has a quick turnaround as they face St. Edward's in a conference road doubleheader on Monday, February 24. First pitch of each game is scheduled for 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. (MST).

SERIES INSIGHT

• Eastern New Mexico and St. Edward's have played each other just 25 times in the all-time series, with ten conference meetings. SEU leads the all-time series 18-7, along with a 6-4 advantage in conference games.
• Most of the games have been at a neutral site (12 games), with the Greyhounds finding just one win in Austin in their seven games played on the road.
• Eastern did find success in 2024, claiming a home three-game sweep against the Hilltoppers, the first sweep of SEU in program history. During the home series, the Greyhounds outscored St. Edward's 29-6, winning a pair of games by run rule.
• In the Greyhounds last series in Austin, ENMU lost all three games, with two of the three games being very close. Game one was a shutout as the Hilltoppers won 3-0, then the series finale went to 10 innings, with SEU prevailing 2-1.
• The teams first faced each other in 2008, during a neutral site tournament held in San Antonio, as St. Edward's finished 8-4 winners (2/1/2008).

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

• Eastern New Mexico garner a 12-4 record on the season, with a 5-1 LSC record, holding a five-game winning streak. Recently, ENMU bested St. Mary's in a pair of games, 8-6 and 8-2, taking advantage of big innings to beat the Rattlers.
• The Greyhounds offense has 132 runs this season with 160 hits. Entering the weekend, ENMU led the nation in home runs with 20, while scattering 35 doubles this season. Eastern's team batting average stands at .348, while combining for 117 RBIs. ENMU's pitching sports a 3.87 ERA, allowing 74 runs with 109 hits along with 90 strikeouts.
• Leading from the batter's box, Aylene Lucero has the team highs in batting average (.558), runs (25), hits (29), and RBIs (26). Valeria Contreras is an important bat in the lineup, hitting .464 with 26 hits and 23 RBIs. Alondra Vasquez comes off a four hit and three RBI series against St. Mary's, holding 20 hits and 17 RBIs on the season.
• Recently, Cierra Smith earned her second start in the circle and finished with a complete game effort in an 8-2 win over St. Mary's. Smith holds a 3.29 ERA this season with a 2-1 record, while Miranda Guillen leads the team with a 2.49 ERA. Marissa Rodriguez has a team best 4-2 record this season, while Jordan Rivera posts a team high 40 strikeouts.

SCOUTING THE HILLTOPPERS

• St. Edward's enter Monday's contest following a sweep of Western New Mexico. The Hilltoppers offense and strong pitching lead to a pair of run-rule wins over the Mustangs, 11-2 (5 Inn.) and 10-1 (5 Inn.). The wins push SEU's record to 9-7 on the year, with a 3-3 conference record.
• Following the high scoring series with WNMU, St. Edward's have accounted for 83 runs this season on 133 hits. The team holds a .316 batting average with 24 doubles, six home runs, and 74 RBIs. In the circle, the Hilltoppers have a 4.07 ERA, giving up 71 runs on 115 hits. The team has 53 strikeouts and a .272 opposing batting average.
• Katie Dillon has been the offensive spark for St. Edward's, recording 26 hits with 17 runs, with a .510 batting average and seven stolen bases. Megan Morris (19 hits), Sloane Hill (16 hits), and Ella Hutzler (15 hits) are also key figures in the SEU lineup. Morris has a team high of 17 RBIs, while Hill paces the team with five doubles.
