PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Softball returns to Portales to play their final games of February, as Cameron comes to town for an LSC doubleheader on Friday, February, 28. The opening game is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m., while the second game is expected to begin at 3 p.m.

SERIES INSIGHT
- Cameron and Eastern New Mexico play each other for the 43rd and 44th time, as CU holds a commanding 35-6-1 edge over the Greyhounds. In LSC play, the Aggies have a 4-30 conference standing against Eastern.
- Cameron has dominated the recent meetings between the two teams, winning eight of the last ten games. The two games ENMU won were part of a series win against the Aggies, taking a home series with Cameron 2-1.
- In the Amanda Fefel era, ENMU and Cameron played eight times as six games have been decided by four runs or less.
- Three of the Greyhounds four wins against the Aggies have come at home, with the most recent two coming back in 2023, as ENMU won 15-3 in five innings, then beat CU 6-3 in seven innings.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern have opened conference play with a 6-2 record, winning six straight game in-between a pair of loses. The Greyhounds have a 13-5 record so far this season, recently taking three of four road games. ENMU sweep St. Mary's, scoring eight runs in each game, while splitting with the Hilltoppers to conclude the road trip.
- Eastern's offense holds a .332 batting average so far this season, scoring 141 runs with 173 hits. The Greyhounds have recorded 125 RBIs, while posting 35 doubles, six triples, and 21 home runs. In the circle, the Greyhounds pitching staff have a collective ERA of 3.66, giving up 81 runs and 121 hits. ENMU's is holding opponents to a .260 batting average, while recording 102 strikeouts.
- Aylene Lucero leads all Greyhounds hitters with a .500 batting average, while sporting 30 hits, 26 RBIs, and 26 runs scored. Valeria Contreras holds a .422 batting average with 23 RBIs, while Madison Begaye is hitting .395. Christina Meneses leads the team with seven doubles, while Alondra Vasquez recently passed 100 career RBIs in their ENMU career, totaling 17 on the season.
- Miranda Guillen has a 2.60 ERA to lead the Greyhounds pitching staff, holding a 4-1 record in seven starts. Marissa Rodriguez also has four wins this season, while Jordan Rivera leads the team with 42 strikeouts and a .196 opposing batting average.
SCOUTING THE AGGIES
- Entering the weekend, Cameron are 5-7 overall record, with a 2-6 conference record. The Aggies recently picked up their first two conference wins, beating Midwestern State, 12-2 and 11-6. Before that, the Aggies played three nationally ranked LSC opponents, falling in each game.
- Offensively, Cameron holds a .317 batting average, scoring 73 runs so far this season. The Aggies have registered 97 hits, scattering 17 doubles, five triples, and 15 home runs. Pitching wise, Cameron holds an ERA of 5.20 on the season, giving up 72 runs this season. CU holds opponents bats to a .310 batting average, while recording 55 strikeouts.
- Haley Gardella leads the Aggies with a .485 batting average after the opening 12 games, recording 16 hits with 14 RBIs. Kaiden Boren is just behind with 15 hits on the season, scoring a team leading 12 runs. Kelsey Creech and Madysen Boutwell both have a batting average above .350 to strengthen the lineup.
- Stormee Reed and Tinley Schmidgall are the two primary pitchers for Cameron, combining to throw 65.0 of the 71.1 innings this season. Reed leads the team with a 3.36 ERA in six starts, posting 42 strikeouts with a .258 opposing batting average.
