RICHARDSON, Texas — Eastern New Mexico Softball's
Miranda Guillen has been named Lone Star Conference (LSC) Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Tuesday afternoon. Guillen earns their first weekly honor of their career, while being the second Greyhound this season to win an LSC weekly honor. Guillen is the first Greyhound to win pitcher of the week since
Marissa Rodriguez did so in 2024.
Guillen led the Greyhounds to a 6-0 victory against Texas Woman's, tossing a career high 13 strikeouts in the complete game shutout against the Pioneers. The freshman allowed only three base runners, surrendering a single, walk, and hit by pitch, while recording two strikeouts in five of the seven innings. Guillen's 13 K performance was the 6
th most strikeouts in a single game in program history, while over the weekend the El Paso, Texas native held opponents to a .077 opposing batting average.
Eastern New Mexico begin West Division play, traveling to face Lubbock Christian on Friday, March 14 for a two-game series. The team's matchup in Lubbock for a game at 3 p.m. (MST) and 5 p.m. (MST).
