PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Softball heads to Denton, Texas to face Texas Woman's on Sunday, March 9, in a two-game conference doubleheader. First pitch of the opening game is set for 12 p.m. (MST), while game two will start at 2 p.m. (MST).

SERIES INSIGHT
- In the all-time series, Texas Woman's holds a 69-23 record against the Greyhounds. In LSC play, Eastern trails the Pioneers 42-13 in conference meetings.
- The last meeting between the teams occurred during the 2024 LSC Tournament, where Eastern won 5-2 against the Pioneers during the first-round matchup. Alondra Vasquez finished 2-3 with two RBIs, including a solo home run, while Marissa Rodriguez allowed just four hits during a complete game performance.
- During last season's regular season series, the Pioneer's claimed two of the three games, while ENMU's one win in the series came in a 6-3 battle over 11 innings. The contest lasted over three hours, with Rodriguez pitching all 11 innings.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- The Greyhounds hold a 14-10 record and 7-7 LSC standing after falling in a pair of games against #1 UT Tyler. ENMU were held at bay offensively in the two losses, while the Patriots proved their national ranking with a pair of convincing wins. ENMU enters their last set of games against East Division opponents when facing TWU.
- The Greyhounds are batting .308 on the season, scoring 158 runs this season from 205 hits. Eastern has accumulated 141 RBIs, while posting 39 doubles, six triples, and 25 home runs. In the circle, ENMU sports a .427 ERA, striking out 128 hitters with 122 runs allowed, on 168 hits.
- Aylene Lucero paces the Greyhounds bats with a .462 batting average, scoring 29 runs with 36 hits, and 26 RBIs. Both Lucero and Christina Meneses have a team high seven doubles on the year, while Alondra Vasquez' seven home runs leads the team. Valeria Contreras has started every game for the Hounds, hitting .388, with 31 hits and 24 RBIs.

SCOUTING THE PIONEERS
- Coming off of its first LSC sweep of the year, Texas Woman's stand at 12-6 with a 8-6 conference record. In their first games of the weekend on Friday, TWU beat Western New Mexico 8-0 and 11-3, winning both games in six innings.
- To start the season, Texas Woman's supply a .310 batting average, picking up 96 runs on 146 hits. TWU has picked up 30 doubles this season, while hitting seven home runs. Â The Pioneers pitching holds a 3.77 ERA over 113.1 innings. TWU has registered 79 strikeouts in that time, holding opponents to a .267 batting average, giving up 71 runs.
- Leading the way for the Pioneers are Lizzie Smith and Hawwa Townsend, both batting over .400 this season. Smith (.447 BA) has a team best 16 runs scored, while Townsend leads the team in hits (24), doubles (9), home runs (3), and RBIs (17). Vivica Hernandez and Marissa Espinoza each have 19 hits this season, while Espinoza leads the team in stolen bases with eight.
- Allison Gonzalez has been the standout pitcher for the Pioneers to start the campaign, leading the team with a 6-3 record, along with a team low 1.65 ERA and 0.94 WHIP. Gonzalez leads the team with 51.0 innings pitched and five complete games, holding hitters to a .205 opposing batting average. Randi Crawford is the other primary starter for the Pioneers, holding a 4-2 record in eight starts. Crawford leads the team in strikeouts with 33, but has allowed seven of the eight home runs given up by the Pioneers this season.
