PORTALES, N.M. – With just three weeks remaining in the regular season, Eastern New Mexico Softball heads on the road to play West Division foe Midwestern State this Friday, April 11, in Wichita Falls, Texas. The games are set to commence at 12 p.m. (MST) / 1 p.m. (CST) and 2 p.m. (MST) / 3 p.m. (CST).

- The LSC doubleheader will be broadcast on FloCollege. SERIES INSIGHT
- Eastern New Mexico and Midwestern State have played each other close the past few seasons, with the Greyhounds all-time record standing at 11-28 with MSU.
- In the first doubleheader this season, each team took a game in Portales. ENMU won the opening game 3-1, behind a complete game pitching effort from Miranda Guillen. In game two, the Mustangs sparked a late inning comeback to win 8-6.
- In the last five seasons, neither team has taken a series sweep since the Mustangs won three straight games back in 2019.
- The last time ENMU traveled to Wichita Falls, the teams played three tight games with MSU winning the series, 2-1. The Mustangs won the opening game in 11 innings, 6-5, while Eastern came back to win the second game of the doubleheader, 7-3. In the series finale, MSU held off ENMU, 3-2.
- Both teams first played each other as non-conference opponents back in 2005, with the Mustangs winnings a neutral site contest, 3-2 (2/25/05).
SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS
- Eastern New Mexico have a 24-18 overall record this season, with a conference standing of 17-15. In the teams last doubleheader, ENMU took a home split with Western New Mexico, winning the opening game 4-1, then falling in a back and forth game, 17-13.
- As a team, Eastern have a .312 batting average, putting up 257 runs, registering 357 hits. The Greyhounds have provided 69 doubles, while hitting nine triples and 36 home runs. In the circle, ENMU has a 4.56 ERA, striking out 236 batters, giving up 218 runs and 300 hits.
- Aylene Lucero enters the weekend with a .438 batting average, the 6th best batting average in the LSC. Lucero leads the team in runs (50, 2nd in LSC) and hits (60, 4th in LSC), while adding 35 RBIs. Alondra Vasquez is batting near the .400 mark, leading the team with 40 RBIs, 10 home runs, and 24 walks. Valeria Contreras and Christina Meneses each have 47 hits, as both have provided over 30 RBIs this season.
- Miranda Guillen leads the Eastern pitching this season, posting a record of 11-5 with 11 complete games. The freshman has 122 strikeouts with an opposing batting average of .202 (both are top-10 in the LSC). Jordan Rivera has a 5.15 ERA for the Greyhounds, with a 6-3 record over 21 appearances. Cierra Smith (25.1 IP) has pitched in each of the last two series, while Marissa Rodriguez has a 4.60 ERA in 77.2 innings.
SCOUTING THE MUSTANGS
- Midwestern State last victory came against the Greyhounds (3/30), with MSU losing seven of their last eight games, including their last four games falling to #2 West Texas A&M. Overall, Midwestern State hold a 14-27 record, while sitting at 11-21 in conference play.
- The Mustangs have a .285 batting average this season, finding 166 runs on 300 hits. Midwestern State have clubbed 50 doubles, finding five triples, and 22 home runs. Pitching wise, MSU have a 7.04 ERA, giving up 247 runs over 258.1 innings.
- Leading the Mustangs bats, Sydney Linn has a .367 batting average, while Camile Nunez leads the team with 43 hits. Megan Ayala has 27 RBIs, with Linn and Jessica Roberts each scoring 24 times.
- Addison Lindemann and Kayleigh Bowers have been the two primary starters, combining for 34 of the 41 games started this season. Lindemann leads the team with a 5.92 ERA with 100.1 innings pitched and 68 strikeouts. Bowers is just behind for innings pitched with 84.2, while holding a 6.48 ERA.
