ENMU travels to Odessa to face UT Permian Basin.

PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico Softball will be on the road for the final weekend of the regular season, with the Greyhounds still in the hunt for the playoffs. ENMU starts the weekend against UT Permian Basin with a doubleheader scheduled for 12 p.m. (MST) / 1 p.m. (CST) and 2 p.m. (MST) / 3 p.m. (CST) on Friday, April 25.

SERIES INSIGHT

  • ENMU have controlled the all-time series, leading 32-14 overall. In conference play, the Greyhounds are 18-5 against the Falcons in LSC action.
  • In the first doubleheader this season, the Greyhounds swept the Falcons in a pair of games in Portales. Miranda Guillen tossed a complete game shutout in game one, 4-0, while Jordan Rivera and Marissa Rodriguez combined for s shutout in the circle.
  • Eastern are currently riding an eight-game winning streak against the Falcons, beginning back in 2023 with a three-game sweep in Odessa.
  • The Greyhounds are .500 when playing in Odessa, with a 7-7 all-time record on the road against UT Permian Basin. ENMU did win there last games in Odessa in 2023, but UTPB won four-straight home games from the span of 2009-2012.

SCOUTING THE GREYHOUNDS

  • Eastern New Mexico looks to snap a six-game losing streak this weekend, holding a 26-24 overall record, along with a 19-21 LSC record. ENMU dropped their final home games of the season against Lubbock Christian, falling 17-10 (8 Inn.) and 4-3. Currently, the Greyhounds are tied for 7th place in the LSC.
  • As a team, Eastern have a .308 batting average, putting up 301 runs, registering 420 hits. The Greyhounds have provided 79 doubles, while hitting 11 triples, and 45 home runs. In the circle, ENMU has a 5.09 ERA, striking out 265 batters, giving up 290 runs and 377 hits.
  • Aylene Lucero leads the team in batting average (.417), runs scored (56), hits (68), and stolen bases (14). Alondra Vasquez provides a spark with 10 home runs, 45 RBIs, along with a team best 32 walks. Christina Meneses leads the team with 17 doubles, while Valeria Contreras has scored 47 runs this season with a .344 batting average.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS

  • UT Permian Basin won their last two home games, coming against Sul Ross State on April 6. Overall, the Falcons have an 8-42 record along with a 3-37 conference record. Recently, the UTPB dropped six consecutive road games.
