PORTALES, N.M. – For the third consecutive season, and just the 5
th time in program history, Eastern New Mexico Softball has qualified for the Lone Star Conference Softball Tournament, earning the 6
th seed. The Greyhounds will play third-seeded #7 Angelo State in the quarterfinals on Thursday, May 1 at 10 a.m. (MST), played at host site West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas.
The Greyhounds finished the 2025 regular season with a program record 23 conference wins, while finishing above .500 for the first time since 2006 (30-24, 23-21 LSC). The 2025 team also posted the most wins in a season since 2006, when Eastern went 33-21. Under the guidance of
Amanda Fefel, the Greyhounds have qualified for the conference tournament three times in their four-year tenure. In the standings, ENMU took 6
th place being the highest finish in the standings since 2002.
As the 6
th seed, ENMU heads to the neutral venue to play third-seeded #7 Angelo State, with the winner taking on winner of No. 2 #3 UT Tyler and No. 7 Cameron on Friday, May 3, beginning at 1 p.m. (MST). The Greyhounds and Rambelles met four times in the regular season, as Angelo State took all four matchups.
