CANYON, Texas – At the 2025 LSC Softball Awards Banquet, five members of the Eastern New Mexico Softball program picked up all-conference honors, held at Legacy Hall on the campus of West Texas A&M, on Wednesday evening.
Aylene Lucero and
Alondra Vasquez both were selected to the All-LSC First Team, while
Miranda Guillen and
Christina Meneses earned All-LSC Second Team honors, and
Valeria Contreras landed on the All-LSC Third Team. In addition to their all-conference accolades, Guillen and Meneses were both selected to the LSC All-Freshman team.
Lucero has started every game for ENMU as the lead-off hitter, leading the team with 75 hits, 61 runs scored, three triples, and a .523 on-base percentage, being selected as one of the top outfielders in the conference. The graduate student added 13 doubles, eight home runs, 40 RBIs, while slugging .663. The Albuquerque, N.M. native earns their first ever all-conference honor, sitting in the top-10 in the LSC for batting average, on-base percentage, runs scored, and hits. In all of Division II, Lucero's 61 runs is 5
th in the nation, while being the second most in a single season in program history. Lucero's 75 hits are tied 5
th most in a single season in program history, trailing the all-time record by just three hits.
Vasquez becomes the first Greyhound in over 15 years to earn first-team All-LSC honors in back-to-back seasons, being selected as the top third baseman in the conference. The senior posted a .395 batting average in the regular season, leading the team with 11 home runs, 49 RBIs, 35 walks, and a .686 slugging percentage. The Dominican Republic native earns their third all-conference honor of their career, sitting in the top 20 in several categories in the LSC, including walks, RBIs, and home runs. This season Vasquez set a single season program record for walks (35), while being in the top 10 for home runs, on-base percentage, and RBIs.
Meneses earns All-LSC Second Team Honors and All-Freshman honors in their first collegiate season. Meneses slugged .611 for the Greyhounds this season, leading the team with 17 doubles, while adding seven home runs. Meneses' 46 RBIs are second on the team, while 14 games with multiple RBIs are a team high. The freshman is approaching the single season doubles record, just two away from tying the record set in 2000 by Rachel Mohler (19).
Joining Meneses on the all-conference second team and all-freshman team, Guillen led the pitching staff for the Greyhounds this season. The first-year from El Paso, Texas sported a 3.20 ERA, leading the team with a 15-5 record and 131 strikeouts. Around the conference, Guillen is in the top 10 for opposing batting average (.217), inning pitched (131.1), strikeouts, and wins. 15 wins by Guillen is the most by a freshman in the LSC and in ENMU single season program history. Their opposing batting average is the second best in a single season for ENMU, while 131 strikeouts (3
rd in single season) and four shutouts (4
th in single season) are also the most by a freshman for ENMU.
Contreras earns their first all-conference honor, landing on the All-LSC Third Team. Contreras led the Greyhounds defensively at shortstop, recording a program record 133 assists (11
th in nation, 2
nd in LSC). The 5
th year from Amarillo, Texas finished the regular season with a .349 batting average, scoring 54 runs, with 59 hits, and a program record 18 sacrifice hits. On the bases, Contreras was a perfect 10-10 on stolen bases. Earlier in the season, Contreras set the ENMU all-time record for fielding assists with 389.
