Vasquez and Lucero Garner NFCA All-Region Honors

Vasquez and Lucero become the sixth and seventh Greyhounds ever to earn all-region honors from the NFCA

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has released their all-region teams, with Alondra Vasquez and Aylene Lucero earning all-region selections. The duo mark the first time ENMU has had multiple all-region selections since 2001, while Vasquez becomes the first Greyhound to make the All-Region First team since Jennifer Harrer and Rachel Mohler did so in 2001.

Vasquez and Lucero both earn the honor for the first time and become the sixth and seventh individuals to receive all-region recognition from the NFCA, and the third and fourth in the era of head coach Amanda Fefel. Vasquez earned All-LSC first team honors and was named to the All-Region First Team. Lucero also picked All-LSC first team honors, while being selected to the All-Region Second Team.

Vasquez finishes the 2025 campaign with a 50 RBIs, 12 home runs, 36 walks (school record), and a .703 slugging percentage to led the team. The Santiago, Dominican Republic native batted .396, starting all 55 games for the Greyhounds, playing 40 games at third base and 15 games at catcher. Around the conference, Vasquez finished in the top-20 for several categories, including walks, RBIs, and home runs.

Lucero garners an all-region second team after a breakout season in 2025. The Albuquerque, N.M. native led the Greyhounds with a .414 batting average, 75 hits, 61 runs scored, three triples, and a .516 on-base percentage. Playing all 55 games in the outfield, Lucero contributed 13 doubles, eight home runs, 40 RBIs, and a .652 slugging percentage, finishing in the top-10 in the conference for batting average, on-base percentage, runs scored, and hits. In program history, Lucero's 61 runs scored and 75 hits are three away from the programs all-time records.

NFCA member head coaches from each respective region nominated their student-athletes and voted for the teams. All the honorees are now eligible for the 2025 NFCA Division II All-America squads' selection.
