PORTALES, N.M. – Eastern New Mexico softball heads back on the road after a weekend of home games. The Greyhounds will face Midwestern State on Friday, March 20, at 1 and 3 p.m. MT in Wichita Falls, Texas.
 


In this previous weekend of home games, the Hounds swept St. Edward's (4-3 and 8-0) and split a pair of games against St. Mary's (5-7 and 6-4).
 
Eastern now holds a 12-11 overall record and a conference record of 8-8.
 
Christina Meneses has held the batting average lead for the Greyhounds and continues to with an average of .431. Meneses has started all 23 games of the season earning 16 runs, 25 hits, 22 RBIs, and five home runs.
 
Seneca Aarstad is among the top hitters for the Hounds with an average of .385. Over the past weekend Aarstad went six for nine with seven RBIs, a double, a home run, and two walks.
 
Samantha Parisi is hitting a .305 and Emily Marsh follows with .292.
 
Marissa Rodriguez leads the Greyhounds in the circle with a 6-0 record and a 4.06 ERA. Miranda Guillen leads with 59.1 innings pitched and follows Rodriguez with a 5-4 record and a 4.25 ERA with 55 strikeouts.
 
Angelina Rubalcava is also among the top pitchers for the Hounds having pitched 21.2 innings, started five games, and earned 20 strikeouts.
 
Midwestern State is coming off a recent loss to Lubbock Christian this past weekend, now holding an overall record of 4-20 and a conference record of 2-14. Chipper Mayorga leads the Mustangs with a .408 batting average, 31 hits, and 15 RBIs.
 
The Greyhounds and the Mustangs have met 41 times, starting with their first match up in 2005 resulting in a loss for the Hounds. The last match up in 2025 led to a 5-3 win for Eastern.
