Greyhound Basketball Faces Emporia State and Harding in Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic

PORTALES, N.M. – The Eastern New Mexico men's basketball team heads up the road to Canyon, Texas to compete in the Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic hosted by West Texas A&M this weekend. The Greyhounds will take on Emporia State on Friday and then face Harding Saturday afternoon. Both games will start at 1:30 p.m. MT in the First United Bank Center.
 
The Greyhounds are 3-2 on the season following their victory Saturday in The Pit. The Hornets are 2-2 after a five-point win at Northwestern Oklahoma State on Tuesday while the Bison enter the tournament with a 3-1 record.
 
Senior Michael Randle leads the pack for Eastern in scoring at 15.0 ppg. Junior Lawrence Domingo is right behind him at 14.2 ppg while fellow classmate Demetrius Balark is putting up 12.8 ppg. After a 25-point performance against Western New Mexico, junior John Gilliam increased his scoring average to 12.0 ppg.
 
Dishing out assists is junior Deyton De La Cerda at 3.0 per contest. Randle is the only other Greyhound with double-digit assists this season with 13.
 
Pacing the team in rebounding is junior Jason Clardy 6.4 rpg. Domingo is second at 5.2 rpg while both Gilliam and Randle are retrieving 4.6 boards a contest.
 
For ESU, Terrence Moore is the lone player averaging more than 10 points a game at 20.0. He is shooting a team-best 56.0 percent from the field and is grabbing 4.0 rpg. Jay Temaat is putting up 9.5 ppg and Jevon Taylor is scoring 9.0 ppg off the bench.
 
Both Josh Pederson and Micah Swank are retrieving 3.5 rpg while McWisdom Badejo (3.0) and Terrence Sardin (3.3) get at least three boards a contest. Swank is dishing out a team-high 2.5 apg.
 
HU is led by Andraz Kavas. He comes leading the squad in scoring (17.8), rebounding (7.5) and blocks (1.0). From the field, Kavas has made 60.0 percent of his shots while making 18-for-25 (75.0 percent) at the charity stripe.
 
Also scoring in double-digits is Jacob Gibson (13.0), Johnthan McGee (12.3) and Blake McNair (12.0).
 
Will Francis has been credited with a team-high 4.0 apg. He is also averaging 6.5 ppg and 6.0 rpg.
