Cardiac Kids
Eastern has already played a pair of overtime games this season, and has been competitive in every game this year. The Greyhounds have played seven games decided by 10 points or fewer, going 3-4 in those contests.
Second Half Surge
The Greyhounds have come up with five-straight games of scoring 40+ points in the second half. After sluggish starts against Wayne State, UTPB, West Texas, Texas A&M-Commerce and Tarleton State, the Green and Silver pulled to within six in those games despite trailing by at least eight points at the break. ENMU posted 50+ points in the half against WT and Tarleton and shot above 46% in the last three second halves.
Getting to the Line
ENMU ranks in the top five in the country in free throw attempts. The 303 trips to the line are fourth-most in the nation, but third most in the Lone Star Conference. Additionally, Eastern ranks 18th overall in free throws made.
Earning a Second Chance
The Greyhounds sit at fourth in the nation with 15.91 offensive rebounds per game, leading the LSC.
Chris Lewis has been strong on the offensive glass, pulling down 39 rebounds, the most in the conference.
Picking the Pocket
Eastern's 8.4 steals/game ranks 52nd nationally and third in the conference and 92 total steals puts the 'Hounds at 20th. Guards
CoRnell Neal,
Marquise Harris and
Joe Clarke have each produced at least 14 steals on the season.
Shooting the Lights Out
Senior guard
CoRnell Neal has led the Greyhounds in scoring in each of the last four games and has gone above 20 points in three of the last five games. The Midwest City, Okla., native leads ENMU with 16.6 points/game and is shooting at a .438 clip on the season.
L.A. Distributing
Junior guard
Lamarquis Thompson provided a spark off the bench in his first game with Eastern, dishing out five of ENMU's 17 assists. Saturday marked the first time this year the team had recorded a positive assist/turnover ratio with a season high 17 dimes and season low 11 turnovers. It was the first time since Dec. 19, 2015 that the Green and Silver had more assists than turnovers.

Neal Named LSC OPOTW
Senior
CoRnell Neal was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday after lighting up the scoreboard this past weekend in Canyon. The Midwest City, Okla., native nailed a game winning three against Southern Nazarene and came up with eight points in overtime to help the 'Hounds past Wayne State.
New Faces
Eastern features an abundance of new faces on the 2016-17 squad. Along with the coaching staff, Head Coach
Tres Segler brought in 12 new players to fill out his roster.

LSC Outlook
Midwestern State topped the 2016-17 Lone Star Conference men's basketball preseason poll as voted on by LSC Head Coaches and SIDs. West Texas A&M's David Chavlovich was named Preseason Player of the Year.
