PORTALES, N.M. – The ENMU Greyhounds volleyball team continues the 2016 campaign at the Tarleton State Tournament in Wisdom Gym in Stephenville, Texas. ENMU, which returns six starters and 13 letterwinners, is riding a three-match winning streak. On the streak, the Greyhounds posted a pair of come-from-behind wins last weekend at the West Texas A&M Lady Buff Classic.

First Serve
• ENMU Head Coach
Sia Poyer (37-59), in his fourth-year at the helm of the volleyball program, needs 13 victories to eclipse the 50-win plateau.

Lauren Frye enters her senior season with 1,222 career kills. Frye is currently ranked No. 3 on the all-time list and needs 473 kills to break Christabell Mariner's program record. The Amissville, Va., native was a First Team All-Conference selection a year ago and picked up a tournament-high 73 kills last weekend.

Courtney Lawson aims to end her prolific career in the Green and White with a bang. Lawson was named one of three Academic Greyhounds of the year last year and has 26 double-doubles during her tenure at ENMU. The senior from Rio Rancho, N.M. notched 39 kills and 45 digs last weekend.

• Junior
Alexis Aguirre dished out 1,102 assists last season for an offense that averaged 12.50 kills/set. Last weekend, Aguirre assisted on 125 kills to help the team to a 3-1 mark. The Artesia, N.M., native posted three matches with 50 or more dimes last season.

Andrea Aguilar dug out 522 attacks a year ago, good for the ninth-highest mark in single-season history. The Clovis, N.M., native needs 107 to break 1,000 digs in her career with the Greyhounds. Aguilar was named to the All-Tournament team last weekend at the WTAMU Lady Buff Classic.

Brooklyn Biel is coming off an impressive weekend at the WTAMU Lady Buff Classic with an All-Tournament team selection. The middle blocker picked up a career-high 20 kills in the win over Adams State and went above 10 kills in all four matches.
• Junior
Amanda Dietz picked up 20 kills and 3.0 blocks last weekend. The Albuquerque, N.M., native also hit a blistering .500 in the four-set win over McKendree.
• The Green and White also have four newcomers for the coming campaign. Freshmen

Sadie Phimmasone all joined ENMU with expectations of excellence.
Schedule Breakdown
• ENMU is 5-7 in the second four games of the season under head coach

• The 'Hounds have never attended the Tarleton State Tournament with Poyer
• The Green and White open the season with tournaments the first two weekends of the season before hosting New Mexico Highlands at Greyhound Arena on Sept. 20.
• ENMU will host 10 matches at the friendly confines of Greyhound Arena. Of the 10 home contests, nine are against foes from the Lone Star Conference
'Hounds Chasing Records
• Senior
Lauren Frye is eyeing a number of records at ENMU. Currently she ranks in the top 10 in career kills (4th), attack attempts (4th) and block assists (7th). Additionally, Frye has 63 matches in her career with at least 10 kills and 13 matches with over 20 kills.
• Senior
Courtney Lawson currently sits at seventh-place in her career for service aces with 110. Lawson needs 43 to match Jennifer Goble's all-time record.
Lone Star Conference Outlook
• The Greyhounds were picked to finish ninth in the Lone Star Conference, despite returning 13 letterwinners
• Tarleton State's Hailey Roberts was named Offensive Player of the Year, Texas Woman's Sara Oxford earned Defensive Player of the Year acclaim, and Texas A&M-Kingsville's Casey Klobedans was tabbed Setter of the Year.
• Angelo State was the narrow favorite to capture the Lone Star Conference title, according to the 2016 LSC volleyball preseason poll. The league's preseason polls reflect the opinions of LSC head coaches and sports information directors, plus various media representatives from throughout the region.

Scouting Central Oklahoma - The 12th-ranked Bronchos enter Friday's match 5-0 and have dropped just one set on the season (Texas A&M - International). Taylor Bevis returns after picking up 396 kills a season ago. Eastern leads the all-time series, 20-13, but the teams have not met since 2005.

Scouting Colorado Christian - The Cougars enter the weekend at 2-2 on the year after playing at the Concordia University Irvine - Labor Day Tourney. Sophia Proano and Mollie Bailey each lead the team with 46 kills apiece. ENMU leads the all-time series, 3-1.

Scouting Arkansas Monticello - The Blossoms come into the tournament at 1-4 after losing the opening four matches at the Nova Southeastern Shark Invitational in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Carolina Gasparini leads the charge with 63 kills for UA-Monticello. Saturday marks the first meeting between the two squads.

Scouting Colorado Mesa - The Mavericks have won consecutive matches after tipping off the season at the Oredigger Classic in Golden, Colo., playing a pair of top-15 teams at the tournament. Mackenzie Edwards and Gabriela Dias have each posted 50+ kills on the year. Colorado Mesa leads the all-time series with the Greyhounds, 10-7.
