PORTALES, NM — After a five-game home stand, the Eastern New Mexico University softball team will hit the road for the next five contests. With a 6-6 record in Lone Star Conference play, the Hounds are looking to improve their position to reach the league tournament in May.
The road trip will begin with a three-game LSC series against Texas Woman's. Next Tuesday, Eastern will play Lubbock Christian in a non-conference doubleheader. Live statistics and video will be available for all five contests.

With a 6-6 mark in Lone Star Conference play, the Greyhounds remain in contention for one of the six spots in the upcoming league tournament. On the road, ENMU is 5-1 in LSC play with series wins over Western New Mexico and Midwestern State,

Kaylee Rogers is 5-4 in league play with a 4.32 earned run average.
Cameron Conrad is the top hitter against conference opposition at .385, while
Ashley Lopez is batting .379 in those games.
After setting a team record for fielding percentage last year, the Hounds are fielding .963 against LSC opponents and have turned three double plays.
Head Coach Katie Welborn has a record of 27-61 at ENMU and ranks fifth in program history in victories.
In the Series with Texas Woman's
The Greyhounds are 14-58 against Texas Woman's University with six of those victories coming on the road. Last season, the Hounds went extra innings to win the series-opener against TWU, and rallied from a 4-2 deficit in the bottom of the eighth to secure the 5-4 decision.

The last time ENMU won a road game against the Pioneers came on March 19, 2005. Natasha Lindsey allowed just three hits, while Elizabeth Whipkey double twice and drove in three runs. Jessica Nocas also drove in a run as Eastern went on to a 4-0 win.

With a 6-5 record in conference play, the Pioneers are just half a game ahead of the Greyhounds for a spot in the upcoming LSC Tournament. After starting 9-10, the Pioneers are on a seven-game win streak, sweeping Western New Mexico, Texas A&M-Kingsville and winning a road game against St, Edwards.
Head Coach Gennie Stidham is in her fourth season at TWU and has a record of 112-81-2 with the Pioneers.
In the Series with Lubbock Christian
The Hounds began their series with Lubbock Christian less than a decade ago, with the first meeting occurring in Portales, on February 12, 2010. Eastern is looking for its first win over the Lady Chaps

Lubbock Christian boasts a 17-10 record and is coming off a five game stretch, which saw them take on third-ranked St. Mary's and eighth-ranked Angelo State. With a 1-2 mark, the Lady Chaps are currently tied for fourth in the Heartland Conference. After hosting ENMU, LCU will visit Newman University for a three-game series.
Head Coach Daren Hays is in his fifth season at LCU and has a record of 231-50.
